This was a visual self-reflection exercise that kind of got out of hand and escalated to a full-blown art project.

This is my circle project. It served as a self-reflection exercise and as a way for me to empty my head in the process.  The content of the circles represents my thoughts, dreams and struggles. They tell the story of my reflective exercise with regards to growing up,  trying to become a functional adult, dealing with loss and regret and most importantly embracing the exciting journey that I hope will be my life.

MyLifeInCircles is my original reflections exercise. It starts in the small circle left of the whale with a small figure wearing a black hat sitting underneath a tree, looking at mountains in the distance. This scene was inspired by a Tarot card named the fool, which is about a young adult trying to find his way in the world. With an outlook on life that is both inquisitive and perhaps a bit naive, I wait for now enjoying the beauty of the world whilst preparing for the challenges ahead, represented by mountains. My journey is about to begin!

In the centre of the drawing with the whale, an ancient huge animal that is so big that it can sometimes break out of its circle/bubble. This represents the fact that sometimes things that are bigger then you or beyond your influence can affect your life. In this case the whale knocks over the hourglass, it breaks and the sands of time flow out into other bubbles. With this comes the realisation that time is no longer infinite, I'm growing up and suddenly have to start thinking about my future and the path I would want to walk in my life.

One of the main problems with time always changing things up is the fact that nothing will last forever. Once close friendships dilute and become memories, people come and go,  and loved ones pass might pass away.

The interesting thing about time is that it sometimes opens and at other moments closes opportunities. For example
