The Guardian of the Forest

Matte painting for school project. We had to make a concept art with a statue and an environment. I was inspired by "The Song of the Sea" which is one of my favorite movie.

I wanted to tell the story of an ancient guardian of the forest. In the distant past, he was divided between his duty as guardian and his love. But one day the love of his life disappeared and the poor and sad guardian changed himself into a rock. Since this moment, he was still waiting his love, warmed only by the rising sun.
