This is my mentorship, or 3rd term project from my time at Think Tank Training Centre. I focused mainly on the texturing and look development of the piece, but I was responsible for all aspects. Thanks for your support, and I hope you like it!
The Dreamer
Hello! I am happy to be able to show off my mentorship project from my time at Think Tank Training Centre. The model and textures are based off of the sculpture by Dan Jones entitled, "The Dreamer" (Take a look at his work here: flickr.com/people/tinkerbots/).
The music in the video is La Boîte à Musique by Rhian Sheehan.
I completed all aspects of the project, together with my mentor, Reilly Lohr, and the support of all my friends and peers at Think Tank. It was a great learning experience for me, and I hope that I will be able to use these skills to make my next project even better.
Here are some stills from my breakdown, to better look at the textures. I used the Spec/Gloss workflow in Mari with the node system, which is the method I am most comfortable with. In my next project, I plan to use the PBR workflow in Mari to weigh the pros/cons.
