Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
Always been Arty to some degree. After a failed stint at a film studies degree a few years ago, I somehow side-stepped towards 3D software and I was instantly hooked. I wish I could say that I've been working on projects and honing my skills ever since but, sadly, sometimes life just gets in the way. Thankfully I've finally gotten my act together and began my freshman year studying computer animation. Magick man; Golden Knights; 3D wannabe.
If I remember correctly it was when I first played Red Dead Redemption, I fell in love with the world and spent a great deal of time playing that game. For the longest time I wanted to get into the game industry to design games but over time worked on 3D art and took an interest in that aspect and overtime I have progressed into wanting to become a 3D environment modeller.
My journey started at the age of 10. I started attending the Glasgow School of Art Saturday School. There, I found an interest in creating comic books and short 2D hand drawn animation. That eventually progressed to creating 2D Computer games at College. After graduating college, I applied to an Animation Course at University. I had little experience with 3D animation in College, but as I started to purse 3D I have never looked back.
Art was always part of my life despite the fact that my first degree was in Theoretical Mathematics. For some years I was working as a math teacher in a Private School in my hometown. When I was getting closer to my 30s I took the decision to leave back my career as a teacher and to become a professional artist focusing on 3D. I left Greece in order to move to Scotland to start studying Computer Animation Arts at the University of the West of Scotland.
I have always had a deep interest in cartoons and storytelling from a very young age. I would always come up with silly ideas in my head and goof off with a camera with my siblings. During my teen years I discovered I could express my ideas through amatuer stop motion videos and from there I'd say it just clicked - I became confident creative expression is a key part of who I am and I would like to develop a career out of this :D.
From a young age, I've had a passionate interest in the filmmaking process. I was especially captivated by the post-production enhancements that could heighten the storytelling on display. In particular, the "making of" specials covering the original Spider-man trilogy captivated my creative imagination. This eventually led me to study Computer Animation Arts where I developed skills across the creative pipeline.
I would say from when I was around 15/16 years old I really loved creating random things in 3D and over the years got a real passion for 3D Game asset/character creation. therefore I would say I always have had a passion for creating 3D art, and have recently gained more interest in creating characters for games.
