Round of applause for our sponsors

I realized I wanted to work in the 3D field after being denied entry into a business school. It was actually the best thing that ever happened to me because it made me reevaluate what I wanted my life to look like, what I was passionate about, and what I wanted to contribute to the world. Looking back, art was always an integral part of my life, and I was always the most excited working with others to create projects that inspired others. These realizations led me into pursuing 3D with a vigor.

I originally studied computer-aided drafting and design in high school and worked at an aerospace company doing technical drawings. This job was not very personally rewarding and satisfying. Shortly after, I realized I wanted to pursue something that would allow for more creative freedom. So when it came time to look at universities and I wanted to go after something that was more creative and gratifying than staring at drawings of airplane engines. This sparked my passion for 3D motion graphics

I enjoyed watching complex machines work. I'm not smart enough to be an engineer and I decided to become a 3-D Artist since I had only liked my art and CAD classes in high school. It allowed me to explore 3-D space without limitations.

I realized I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry when I, a high school student at the time, looked back on my middle school self to see what I had started. I had begun my journey into the realm of storytelling via the medium of PowerPoint. It was a little bit of fun for me that I figured out how to use the animation capabilities of a slide show application to move clipart characters around a screen and have conversations with each other. That started my journey.
