Round of applause for our sponsors

I've been a creative person for as long as I can remember. Always very willing to take on new and exciting projects, with not much worry about facing the challenges along the way. From the age of about 16 I started turning my interest towards 2D animation. After experimenting with many different mediums and techniques on an Animation course at Plymouth College of Art, I eventually lead myself towards working with CGI.

During a jobs career trip in college, I found a University that had a course dedicated to Animation. I hadn't even considered it prior, but it got stuck in my head and it's all I've ever wanted to do since. Every drawing after that, I couldn't help but wish to see in motion. It genuinely changed my perspective, now whenever I look at the world I see movements I want to capture and replicate. I just love movement.

During Uni, I have gained a big passion at creating assets and environments

around age 14, I had been interested in art for a number of years and around then I realised my passions were lining up with the concept art industries. 2 years later I joined my collage's a level games course, and now 3 years later I am studying game art in university.

when i started playing video games and saw the amazing world of concept art

I've always been interested in the creative side of the world, with a tattooist as a dad I was brought up in a creative house hold and I've always enjoyed the arts of all kinds. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, as well as dabbling with other art forms such as drama and textile. I realised I wanted to work in the creative industry when I started college. The freedom of art really appeals to me.

Around the age of 15-16, I had an interest in game arts but mostly concept art.

In 2021 my 2nd year of college

I've always loved art- but it wasn't until I began a pre-degree course in Graphics, Illustration and Game Arts at the Plymouth College of Arts (which I indented to follow an Illustration path) that I really discovered that I loved 3D game art! After finishing my pre-degree, I then went on to start my BA for Game Arts at Plymouth College of Art- and I'm currently in my second year.

I have always been interested in art and have always been a creative person, but I spent many years working jobs that did not provide me with any real enjoyment or feeling of accomplishment. I started Learning how to 3d model and around 5 years ago after finishing my shifts and spending every moment I could learning and about a year later I left my job and enrolled for a full time BA Game Arts course at Plymouth College of Art, where I achieved a 1st class degree.

Since I was quite young, watching animated classics, I have always wanted to be a part of the creative world. Learning that a business career was not for me a couple of years ago, I felt I was mature enough to tackle the art scene more seriously.

After spending my school time not doing any art and then going to do an Art Foundation degree in 2017/18

Went for an internship at Splash Damage and found the workflow interesting and engaging

I realised at very young age that I wanted to work in the art industry. My grandparents helped me build my confidence with my artwork and kept me moving forward to aim for a career in this line of work. However, only in recent years did I realise I wanted to focus more on concept art within game arts.

I first realised that I wanted to be creating games during my early years of secondary school. However, nearing the end of my time in school I decided that I wanted to do something more creative than working on the development part of games, this was why I decided to enroll into my current college.

I have always had a degree of interest in the process of game development and 3d art however I have spent the last 6 years working towards this career path, particularly with the Substance Software suite.
