When I took my first course on Blender as an undergrad. That's when I realized I wanted to be a professional 3D artist, because I loved the tool sets so much and being able to see my creations come to life.

I always really loved art and storytelling -I started writing short stories and unfinished novels when I was 8. As I grew up, I always had some intense interest in entertainment. I felt such a need to live for the stories that I consumed, and I realized that I wanted to be a part of something that made someone else feel the same way.

I've been studying graphic design and 3D since my freshman year of high school in 2014. I completed the Visual Communications career course offered through our community college and received my Photoshop certification. Ever since graduating I've wanted to apply my knowledge in the industry.

When I was younger, my mom use to take me to the library. I remember my mom selecting My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. Watching those animations, I wanted to create art like the ones on the screen and found that it led me to connect to my mom's culture. It made me realize that through this work I can also create a space for someone to smile and connect.

I went into college thinking Id be an engineer… that dream died quick. Not because I wasn’t good enough, but because I was bored. Creative problem solving seemed much more fun, and I was right!

I started my education in college as a mechanical engineer. But I lost the passion for creating things that had no element of fantasy or wonder. So I joined a game dev group and fell in love with it. So I switched to game development in college and continued my learning at grad school.

During high school, I was first interested in game programming learning programming languages such as java and C++. Down that road I found I had a passion for game design and focusing more on game design I was heavily into 3D animating and modeling. Growing up I loved playing video games and I was obsessed with cartoons which I think sparked realization that this is what I wanted to do.

When I was a sophomore in high school in a drawing class. My teacher gave a presentation about some high school alumni that we animators and had work to show off from their school. I wanted to pursue animation and film ever since I saw the short films.
