Round of applause for our sponsors

I've always wanted a career in art, and can't think of any other line of work that would be as interesting or fulfilling. As the industry has grown in size and skill, I've become even more motivated to keep up.

I have been drawing and creating since I was a kid and as I grew up the thought of entering the creative field seemed like the perfect answer for my future. I haven't regretted embarking on this journey since.

Videogames have played a huge role in my artistic development and have always had a presence in my life. I have learned through videogames to always strive for greatness, seek out constructive criticism, and explore all possibilities (even things you haven't learned)!

I've always had a passion for drawing growing up! Even back in kindergarten I always found time to doodle and sketch in my books. It was around 6 was when I can recall my fondest memories of playing games, which was Pokemon Leaf Green on the Gameboy Advance. Ever since then my love for games sprung, especially once my father had a computer setup. It of course expanded to shows, movies, animated series, etc. I knew I had to combine my love for art within this industry in some way

Bill Watterson was a huge influence on me as a kid and I would try to emulate strips of Calvin and Hobbes. Art has always been apart of my life but it wasn't till early 2015 I realised I had a knack for design and that I could make a career of it.

I realized needed to work in the creative media and entertainment industry when I saw the concept art of Destiny 1 and thought, "Oh my gosh, no way. People get paid to do this??" That was 5 years ago. Now, one of my core goals in life is to one day, be one of the greats, like Jamie Jones, Craig Mullins and Jeff Simpson who inspired me to create wonderful worlds and ideas.

It first started as a child's hobby. I kept on drawing and honing my skill in drawing as I grew and it slowly became a part of who I am and would love doing everyday. Eventually I started creating and visualizing my own stories. After some period of time, people were intrigued and would often ask me if I were to make a comic or a project about it. I became inspired by the people who were interested in my stories. I then decided to pursue working in the industry.

My interest in drawing started when I saw a friend doing it, but it wasn't until the end high school that I discovered concept art. I was immediately fascinated by the idea of working on my favorite games and movies, helping the team with designs. As I continued to develop my skills, I discovered and learned more and more about the industry and got even more excited to be a part of it. In conclusion, my passion for concept art has been allowing me to tell stories that I hope to inspire others.

I became captivated with traditional animation from a young age and started drawing the characters I saw on screen. From then on, I decided it was my goal to work in the animation industry.

For as long as I could remember I have always loved animation. Growing up as a child, animated films and shows played a big role in my childhood. I first discovered my passion for animation around the age of 10 while driving with my mom in the car. She suggested I pursue animation and in that moment I knew that animation would be the ultimate goal of my future..

I had always thought of it as a possibility for a career as a kid but I really started realizing it after my first year of college.

Very much a childhood thing like a lot of people out there, I have loved storytelling and drawing since before I can remember. Independent 2D animation stole my heart but I've never had the patience to draw frame after frame- I find the fun is in setting the scene.

February 1st, 2015. Monty Oum was a huge source of inspiration for me, and when he passed away that day, he left many of those who looked up to him empty and lost. For me, his passing away impacted me on a different note. I ended up leaving University, and started to focus on what was important to me. Just like Monty, I wanted to bring my imagination worlds to life and his determination and fire for his art is what sparked my flame.

When I was young and watched my uncle study animation, design and the arts.

For many years I wanted to be an illustrator, but as I started looking at post-secondary courses I realized that I would much rather be a part of a team than create art on my own. Animation seemed like the perfect fit for where I saw myself in my professional future.

I have wanted to work in film, particularly animation, since I was very young. I have been working hard to developing my skills as a draftsmen and writer for over 10 years.

I decided to go into art as a career back in 10th grade. Because of that I promptly switched high school so that I could attend one with a dedicated art program.

I've always found solace, beauty and great excitement in the worlds and visuals within fiction. I felt a need to commit the visuals I saw to paper since I was a small child but like many, much to my dismay, I only saw a traditional academic future. I realized in late highschool that it would be a farce to commit to a life doing something I did not love and believe in. Discovered concept art was a career path and the rest was a blur of artistic development and self growth.

I’ve always loved escaping reality to the wonderful worlds of videogames, cartoons and movies, but I always thought it wouldn’t be possible to work in the field. At one point I thought the closest thing to drawing I could do as a job was graphic design, so I went to college for that, only to find out I hated working in that field. Thats when I started taking art seriously and slowly started to learn online.

Since I discovered this was a possibility on a Cubebrush video. I always loved to draw, but after that moment I took it more seriously. This was about 4 years ago.

I have always been curious about drawing and how it works from a very young age. My three older brothers were good at everything creative from drawing to singing or playing the guitar. I wanted to excel further at something than them. I thought drawing would be the easiest to do. It took a lot of hard work and come grade 11 in high school, I really developed a passion for animating and making characters come to life. I wanted to take the ideas out of my head and bring them action and feelings.

Just to suffer? Every night... I can't feel my leg...
