When I was 16 years old, I started to take classes in graphic design and experimented with Adobe. I prefer images over words because words are just the meaning that we are taught to be. Clear visualization can be understood by anyone even if you do not speak the same language. Continuing on that I studied product design, so I could help make things people use in dare everyday lives and try to make them a little more useful.
20 years young and fueled by a passion for design. My design journey kicked off in high school, where I immersed myself in a 6-year exploration of design and prototyping. Taking the leap into industrial product design for the next 3 years, I discovered not just the designer within me but a canvas for evolving skills and interests.
Creativity has always been in me. Art school was something I looked forward to every week in grade school. After taking STEM/Industrial Science in high school, I felt I was missing that creativity. Then I decided to pursue Industrial Product Design. Besides that, my hobbies are also all kinds of DIY things and experimenting with different materials, making clothes.... I am a creative jack-of-all-trades.
I was very tempted to learn about the graphic editing world to get started in a creative way. When I wanted to change direction I found the direction of industrial product design. A direction where I can bring out both my technical knowledge and creative side to design new unique products. This was the moment I realised I could turn my hobby into a job.
I first realized I wanted to work in the creative industries during my time in secondary school. I chose to study graphic design, which allowed me to explore and nurture my passion for being creative. Being creatively engaged has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I find immense joy in expressing my creativity and bringing ideas to life visually. The ability to channel my creativity and create visual concepts gives me a sense of fulfillment and happiness. Ever since that reali
When I was younger, I was always interested in how products are made. How does someone come up with an idea and how does he end with a physical product. I always focused my school career towards that interest of me. The hole process of designing a product is such a interesting process and it has become my dream to be a designer as my hobby/job.
I chose industrial product design because of my passion for nature, problem-solving thinking and the need to always be doing something with my hands. It allows me to combine my love of being outdoors with creating impactful designs. My talent for problem solving finds its way into coming up with innovative solutions to user needs. In addition, working with materials and building prototypes gives me the satisfaction of tangible results. Industrial product design is the perfect balance .
It all started from an early age, when I was already involved in art. I had a natural fascination with art, and over time my interest evolved into architecture and design. I soon fell in love with well-designed, beautiful and functional objects. When I decided to study industrial product design, it was like a fire ignited inside me. My passion for the creative industry grew with every class and project.
As a child I really enjoyed watching the incredible show "How it's made". I've always been creative and keen on learning new things. Working with my hands is something I've always enjoyed. During the Covid-19 pandemic there was a need for face shields. I started a crowdfunding so I could 3D print face shields to give to healthcare workers. afterwards I decided to start the study Industrial Productdesign at Howest Kortrijk.
