At 14, I was confronted with a life altering change when my father died. It questioned everything and pushed me to make meaning of my life. At this age, I became a professional illustrator for books. Writing and illustrating two of my own and then collaborating on book with authors to bring their stories alive. University was when I decided to move into film and animation to elevate my illustration career. I have always been passionate about film, stories and creating characters.

I realised it when I was younger, as it was a great way to explore new worlds and be creative, as well as provide a degree of escapism when needed. I've always had a passion for traditional drawing and creating things, and paint tabletop miniatures on the side as a current hobby.

I was always very creatively inclined as a kid, creating my own fictitious worlds, messing around in Photoshop and making my own flash games online . But it wasn't until I left high school that I released I could actually do these things (on a more professional level) for a living. Studying at University has further reinforced this career path for me.

I realised I wanted to work in the creative industry while teaching and hiking through Nepal where I picked up a pen for the first in a long time with the sheer joy of drawing what surrounded me. I drew for a month straight daily and for hours and haven't looked back.

I've always loved storytelling, making up imaginary worlds, or really anything fantastical. Like many people I've met in this field, I was enamoured with books and movies from a young age. So, when I realised that there was an industry where people could tell stories for a job, I wanted to be a part of it!

When the games I play started inspiring me creatively and made me excited about the prospect of being involved in development when I was a young teenager.

The first time I watched Promare and seeing the unique art style, character and vfx animation and music.

Cliché, but I think I've always wanted to be an artist. I grew up drawing and painting- even my first memory is of 5 year old me drawing with my aunt while Spongebob was playing in the background. Though I would be tempted or almost persuaded to do something else, ultimately I've always chosen art in the end. My love for art and animation never dwindled. Being able to share stories to anyone through my work, my visuals, my eyes is something I want to do in this lifetime.

I've always been attracted to art as a kid; you could pretty much always find me with a pencil to paper, sketching out characters and stories with any free time I had. When Into the Spiderverse came out in theatres, I was struck with the cosmic realisation that this is a thing people do -- people actually work to create these experiences for film, to change the landscape of cinema as visual art. I want to be a part of amazing, rulebreaking productions like it and many more emerging now.

In year 10 was when i first realised that I wanted to work in the creative industries as I didn't want some boring corporate office job with math.

I've always wanted to work in the creative industry, but it wasn't until I was in my final years of highschool I discovered my passion for 2D animation.

Ever since I learnt how to hold a pencil, I've been an artist, creating my own characters and drawing fan art for my fave franchises. Similarly, I've been a video game enthusiast ever since my motor skills were refined enough to use a controller. It wasn't until my final year of high school where I realised concept art for video games was what I wanted to do. So, here I am!

I've always wanted to work in the arts. As a kid, I loved dance and theatre, but as I got older I found a love for animation and decided that was what I was destined to do.

I've always loved animation and games and had a curiosity about how they were made. I have a passion for drawing but due to an injury to the ligaments in my thumb that has affected it's fine motor control - I moved towards 3D modelling and 3D animation. I thoroughly enjoy the animation and games process. I love seeing an animation be imported into a games engine and it's immediately alive and adding juice to the game.

Back in High School , I realize that even I’m not as good as other at drawing or the other art stuff, I really interested in it and keep motivate myself to become better at it. Art & Design is the only thing that makes me feel I want to learn more.

When I was watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and I wondered how animation was made.

2018, I had already graduated from a bachelor of fine art but was so frustrated that my art couldn't be more useful, or seem by more people. I always wanted my art to be a part of something, and animation seemed like the most fun. I had loved the quality of the CGI animated Films being released and the industry seemed to have fantastic opportunities for continued development and growth. I started teaching myself animation in 2018, and then enrolled in my Bachelor of Animation Degree in 2019.

I remember meeting a director from a design studio in my high school years. I have always loved art and design but didn't know graphic design existed. I bought a second-hand Mac (the original blue iMac... showing my age now) and the rest is history! I loved experimenting with photoshop and illustrator. Essentially self-taught until I went to uni to begin a degree in Communication Design.

It’s always been a dream, but when I tried other careers and nothing felt right I knew I had to pursue this

Growing up around all of Disney Pixar's animated films, such as 'Finding Nemo' or 'Toy Story'. I always thought to myself, even as a little kid..."You can have a career in making animated films? Well...thats exactly what i want to do!" To me 'Creativity' is the one driving force in my life, as long as I am being creative im happy. Ive known ever since I was 8 years old, making stick figure flip-book animations in my school books, all the way up to present day.

It's hard to tell, when I was younger I always wanted to figure out how animated movies were made. I would make stop animation movies with my LEGO, at the time I didn't know I was able to do it for a job. In high school one of my teachers introduced me to 3D animation software and I fell in love. Going into University I struggled to figure out what degree to do, until I stumbled upon a Bachelor of Animation at the Griffith Film School.

When I was 9 years old

I fell in love with games and film at an early age, always enchanted by new and innovated vfx's and graphics that continuously raised the bar. It wasn't until I had already started university, when Big Hero 6 released, my friends and I went to see it, that I realised that the feeling I got from the movie was want I wanted to give others.
