Round of applause for our sponsors

I have always wanted to work within the game industry since I was young. I started creating board games and crafting out level layouts before the age of 10.

It was back when I was in middle school. My cousin was working in Blender when I was at his house one day. It was so amazing to me at the time, I immediately got it installed on my parents' computer and started learning it. My cousin even made tutorials for me to start off with. What a guy. Ever since then, I have grown more and more passionate about 3D Design in general.

Ever since I was a kid I had always had in interest in game development. What really pushed me to pursue a career in game development was some of the amazing experiences I had playing certain games like Dark Souls and Outer Wilds. These games have had a huge impact on my life and when it comes to the creation of my art, I want my art to inspire others like these games have inspired me.

I was raised by creative parents who did well to foster that same creativity in me. I engrossed myself in video games from a young age and slowly came to realize how much I loved them. After a year in college, I realized that what I truly wanted was to leave my mark in the industry that created some of my most formative experiences.

Back in high school when we were starting to look into possible carriers I took a look and what I enjoyed doing and realized that I never wanted to stop making art.

I've always been creative and drew more than I did my school work as a kid. Creating all sorts of new characters and creatures that I thought could fit into a game or movie some day. I've told myself for years that I wanted to work where I could create and be artistic, having gone to school for 3D art and animation as given me the start to truly achieve that goal.

In my senior year of high school, I was first acquainted with 3D modeling and animation. As I took more online classes in it, my passion would grow. I would then attend Ferris State University in 2019 where I would continue to grow my skills as a 3D Artist. With graduation around the corner, I prepare myself for industry job searching with my capstone project 'Solus' at the helm of my portfolio.

Ever since I started playing video games and immersing myself in animated films. It’s just something about creating a world and characters from imagination and bringing them to life to the best of your ability. That is what inspires me to strive to be in this industry.

I've been passionate about video games and 3D design my entire life, mostly in the form of video games growing up. But overtime it was more than just "playing a game", I soon started noticing what made a game good or bad, certain tell tale signs that I could pick up on early in a game that would signal as to what kind of experience it would be. That mindset has led me to where I am today, and I hope to soon begin working in industry and bring that same joy it brought me, back to the players.

At the age of 8 playing Zelda Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. I have always been passionate about environments whether it is in games, movies, shows or real life. For a few years I explored other 3D paths such as Characters and Hard-Surface Modeling but I eventually found my way back to my original passion. I have spent the last year learning as much as I can about Environment Art with my primary focus being Vegetation. I still have a long road ahead but I am well on my way!

When I was 10 years old. I remember playing video games with my parents as a kid and thought to myself, "People get paid to make this stuff, right?" In my 4th grade class with Mr. Savara in Harrison, MI, we got internet access in the classrooms. There was one computer per class and it was the old dial up internet. I remember freaking out when Mr. Savara said he would help me look up, what we called at the time, "Graphics."

In high school I took a few programing classes, I really enjoyed them and I enjoyed games. When I went to Ferris my program required us to learn a little art and a little programing before we decided what concentration we wanted to go into. That’s when I learned of my passion for art.

As a kid, I would always watch the behind the scenes documentaries on movies and found the CGI parts intriguing. Movies like Toy Story, The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park etc, really paved the way for me to want to become apart of the digital art industry. I also have been an avid gamer the past decade and a half, specifically with Valve's Team Fortress 2 and their other games like Portal and Left 4 Dead, I just fell in love with their art style.

When I was filming and editing videos for my highschool cross country team my freshmen year of highschool.

I took some coding and 3d modeling classes in high school. I always enjoyed games and creating little stories within games, comics and writing. I quickly became interested in the industry and started attending Ferris right out of High School.

around 14. I got to use my first drawing tablet and from then on I knew I had to work in a digital medium

In high school I was interested in PIXAR films and wanted to learn everything I could about how to create them. As I delved further into the technology and my studies I transitioned into Immersive Technology and researching how to solve problems with that technology. My first job in the industry is creating Virtual Reality Simulations for a fire suppression manufacturing company. I cannot wait to see where immersive technologies takes us and I love that I get to be a part of it all.

After trying Engineering for a few semesters, I realized that it wasn't my passion and that I'd apply myself to a higher level doing something I cared more about.

In my last year in high school, I went to an after-school game design program. We learnt how to make games in Unreal Engine 4. It was very cool and exciting. Though it was a brief period of time, it helped me realize I wanted to work in the creative industry.
