I seriously started to think about working with Games when I was in grade 9. During my whole life I’ve played video games and I would always have ideas for games. Now I realize that working with games was what I always wanted.

One day I was In my room just going around on youtube when I found a 3d modelling tutorial for a plane on Cinema4d. I did it and loved it, after that I followed everything that there is about 3d modelling and even moved to Canada to pursue that dream.

I realized I wanted to work in the creative media in my first year of Architecture school when I got introduced to Autodesk Maya. Once I knew it can be used to make video games I switched gears and haven't looked back since.

When i participated in the Durham College summer shorts program in high school, i got to try 3D art creation for the first time. I enjoyed it so much, i realized i didn't want to do anything else. So i ended up going to the real program at the same school and graduated June 2024.

When I learned that you could have a job doing art for games/ other entertainment, I knew that was what I had to do.

Since I was a child in the 90s

Highschool Grade 12, I was inspired by my art teacher and her recently grad student from high school pursuing art as their career, setting goals to work at small or big companies, and I thought if they can do it, I can also do it.

I've wanted to work in the creative media for as long as I can remember. I watched movies like The Iron Giant and Beauty & the Beast that inspired me. When I was in my youth I got into computer animation and then made the transition into Environment Art because I love the ability to put the viewer into the story instead of just showing them the story.

For me I think it was when I introduced to World of Warcraft with its vast, detailed, open world. That game world is wonderful because it gives each player lot's of places to explore and get immersed. Ever since then I've always been interested in the process of building the 3D Art for games and the tech behind them.

I was very passionate about a game being created by a subsidiary of EA called Dawngate, and after talking with the developers of the game, I realized that this was the industry for me.

I have wanted to work in the game development industry since I was a young child playing Zelda, but it wasn't until 2011 while I was in high school that I realized it was an actual option. I started my post secondary career as a programmer and level designer, but I have since found my place as an environment artist.
