Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I realized I wanted to work in the film industry when I was told you can actually study in that field past high school. I was blown away by the multitude of 3D animation programs available in Montreal, and I immediately knew this was the field I wanted to pursue my studies in. Now that I've almost completed Dawson College's 3-year 3D Animation and CGI program, I've developed a passion for 3D animation and I am so excited to start animating within the industry.
When I really got exposed to internet fandoms at 12 years old. I was amazed and inspired by the fanmade works of communities online. To feel united with others through the shared love of a piece of media was special to me. I want to create stories that will make people feel connected or passionate just like I felt back then.
since i was a lil kid. i would sneak down late at night and watch cartoons on teletoon at night, bionix and toonami blocks. that got me obsessed with cartoons and televisin animation, ever since ive been dying to make a show of my own. ever since i knew it was a job i have been making show ideas of my own.
I used to joke that my childhood friend set me on this path when he told me that working in a creative industry is a difficult goal to achieve. He said "it's like finding a unicorn". So, out of spite of course, I'm going to find that unicorn. But jokes aside, storytelling and art have always been very fulfilling for me, and pursuing character exploration through movement feels natural and satisfying.
From a young age, I've been passionate about art and creating. In high school, I taught myself how to draw and make my own films, and from then on, I couldn't see myself doing anything that wasn't creative. After completing the 3D animation program at Dawson College, I look back with pride at how much I've learnt, and I'm super excited to keep learning more.
For as long as I can remember, I've loved watching characters come to life on the big screen. Ever since I first watched Monsters Inc. as a kid, I've been obsessed with the art of storytelling through 3D animation, especially in VFX and feature film. There's something about giving characters a soul and personality that fills me with pure joy. I especially love the acting side of animation.
Drew since I was a wee kiddo. Loved portraits and the reactions of other kids when a my drawing looked realistic to them. It was only when I saw "How to Train Your Dragon" at about 13/14 that I developed the longing to be able to illustrate beyond that, do cartoons, make my own figures as well. Saw "Big Hero 6" years later and a similar yet different chord was struck in me. I realized that helping make film like that would be a dream come true. So 3D became my college path and soon to be career
During my last year of high school, I had to apply for college and my uncle that worked in animation introduced me to what goes into creating animated films and TV shows and I was really interested. I applied to a college in downtown Montreal called Dawson College and it offered a 3D animation program. I applied, got into the program and from then on I fell in love with the media and telling stories.
When I was a kid I loved to draw environments with a bunch of unique little stick figures fighting around. One day I was at o e of my mom window display events and I was drawing under a horse maniqquin, my mom called me over to someone I had never met and he told me that if I continue drawing every day I can make it my job when I was older, he turned out to be a big shot it the fine arts world and from that day forth I haven’t stopped.
I first realized I wanted to create/develop video games when I got my hands on the G.E.C.K (modding software for Fallout 3). I was 12 at the time and fell in love with the game. I dabbled with the software, watched dozens of tutorials and even got my hands on a copy of 3ds Max to attempt to create and import custom meshes for weapons in game with Nifskope (software to import meshes/textures into the Fallout 3/G.E.C.K). I then continued to use 3ds max for years a hobby on and off.
