Round of applause for our sponsors

I first realised I would live to work in the creative media industry while I was playing video games when I was young; I love the experience of forgetting about everything else and being transported into another world. This love for games soon spread to all kinds of media - painting, YouTube videos, animations. It soon spread into a love for the process

I have always been passionate about art. After finishing school, I did a Bachelor of Fine Art (traditional art) and had been working as a conventional artist ever since. After working as a conventional artist, I realised that I was looking for something more, a career where I could work with other creatives on large projects and one where I could constantly be learning new skills. I had a passion for games as well so it clicked that I could be a games artist. I studied online and here I am!

I've been a gamer for my entire life, and a writer for about half as long. I've always been mystified by the spectacular things game designers achieve and have wanted to pursue this strange magic myself. I have thousands of ideas for games and stories floating around my head at any given time, and I decided towards the end of high school that I needed to learn how to turn these dreams into a real, tangible thing that others can experience.

In 2015, I downloaded blender for the first time. I played with that for a while, and learnt about all fields of CGI but I figured out my specific passion was for visual effects when I realised with enough effort, training, and late nights I could create anything I wanted to.

COVID!!! It meant I couldn't work in my profession as a chef, but I still wanted a creative outlet

Starting out with the cliché desire to work at Pixar in the fourth grade, I enjoyed creating stick figure animations and games in Game Maker. As I have grown up, seeing companies such as Luma Pictures, ILM and Weta Digital has spurred my desire even more.

I was always into games and movies with a good story and an amazingly rich world. From a young age I was always on a computer and in my teen years I dabbled in photoshop, making funny edits of my friends or a poster for school events. With my recent experiences in Virtual Reality, I have seen the potential to create great stories and entertainment.

I realized that I wanted to work in the industry after watching documentaries about how the video games I play are made.

About 4 months ago I had the idea of changing my career entirely. I enrolled in an Arts degree in Animation and Design and am 4 months through my course. While studying im teaching my self Maya, zbrush and substance painter.

I'll fill this out later

Watching the behind the scenes of RWBY and seeing how cool it was

Around Year 12 (2016) was the first time that I realised I wanted to work in the 3D industry.
