Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
My first brush with the arts was in elementary school, where my friend taught me how to draw cartoon characters from Disney and Nickelodeon shows. I couldn't put my pens down; I quickly started experimenting with designing my own characters, environments, and stories to tell. Once in high school, I branched out into digital art once I knew that art was going to be my future career. From then on, I moved further into 3D modeling and graphics, and am currently studying animation in university.
My first experience in the industry was at an animation summer camp in Denver, Colorado when I was 17. I grew up in rural Colorado and spent most of my adolescence trying out different sports and activities. I found myself frustrated with the uniformity and lack of personal expression. I was always expected to be loud and competitive. Going to the LYNX summer camp at CU Denver I was around people who saw me for my art, my expressions, and my passions. Their passion inrigued me.
Sophomore year of high school, I took a course called we were required to take a computer-based course and I decided to take "Art and Animation"; that semester we did a lot of Photoshop and Illustrator but never really covered the "Animation" half of the course by the end of it. I went up to my teacher like "Hey, what gives?" She told me that no one ever really liked the animation side of it, it was too hard, so she skipped it. I then did my own research and discovered my calling.
