In grade 11 at a career expo

I realised I wanted to be apart of this industry when 'Rising Sun Picture' representatives came to my high school and talked about the VFX industry while showing breakdowns of their work - from there I knew that was what I wanted to do! I completed an industry placement at Rising Sun Pictures through my Bachelor of Media Arts degree in 2020 and loved it! I am currently looking to work in the industry.

Since young, I've always been in awe of the creative industry. From games to movies. The combination of art and technology never fails to amaze me.

Coming out of high school, I had originally planned to go into Mechatronic Engineering. I had always had a love for art and creating things and eventually realised Mechatronics wasn't for me, so I decided to pursue Media Arts instead. Ever since I started, I have really enjoyed myself and what I have been learning and realise this is the path I want to take.

My interest in the field started with my love affair of Scifi films growing up.

I found myself interested in the Visual Effects industry whilst studying at school - at a careers breakfast, a mentor from Rising Sun Pictures based in Adelaide, South Australia, came to talk to the class, and I was immediately fascinated with the prospect of working on feature films, creating effects through the use of math and physics.

Back in 2008, my cousins and I used to make home made video with generated effects from old editing programs. Since then, I furthered my studies in high school and then joined university to persue my career.

I have been interested in Film and Television since middle school.

I think its been something I have always wanted to do, but got side tracked along the way and am now here to give it a solid shot. I remember being a kid and wanting to be an actor, then I wanted to do something in film and television, although I didn't know what, then a friend told me a should try VFX, and I did. And now it feels like home, the dream job I never knew I wanted.

I've always been fascinated of how movie are made at a very young age and wanted to work in a industry that inspires and entertains audiences.

Growing up playing video games

Around 2015 when I was a 16 year old I started editing gaming Videos and montages, uploading them to YouTube which very much sparked my interest in the entertainment industry. This also coincided with the start of a Media Studies class I was taking in High School which furthered my skills and understanding of film-making, editing and the media. Learning so much about films I realised that I really wanted to be able to edit together shots and sequences with incorporation of Visual Effects.

Making short films in high school.

Final year of High School I had an interest in it but I developed more of a passion for it during my Uni course which is a Bachelor of Media Arts. I'm currently studing at Rising Sun Pictures in Adelaide through the University of South Australia which has been an amazing opportunity and experience.

In 2017 I started my interest in film, I enrolled in a bachelor of media arts to learn as much as I could about that industry when I slowly started to become more intrigued with the world of Visual Effects. From there my interest grew and now I'm studying at Rising Sun Pictures in South Australia

When I was about 14- year 8- I would submit video essays instead of written essays. This love has carried through my life up until now.

In 2017 when I started my bachelor of media art course at University of South Australia

I was in year 10 when I took an animation course outside of school and i fell in love with 3D modeling and it's something that I am hoping to make a career out of it

Started off with my mother actually kind pushing me into it a bit, as she herself is a graphic designer. During high school as well I always chose the Design and Technology subject and was also ultimately forced to Visual Art by my mother. I was originally wanting to go with something like criminology but during a university open day I stumbled upon a industrial design showcase lecture and then immediately knew I wanted to pursue this later in life.

Ever since I started playing games. But then, I joined architecture and my interest went more into the quality of spaces one could create rather than visual effects. I still enjoy making models and rendering them on simple Softwares. I've never spent much time trying to render, but I hope I do in the future.

I have always been creative, and always had a set of technological skills. I started off in graphic design but didn't feel creatively fulfilled, I later moved onto animation and illustration which was a similar scenario. Eventually I found my way to Visual Effects where I am today. I found the industry had the competitive aura I was looking for, as well as the room to grow, learn and experience so many different amazing forms of art!
