Round of applause for our sponsors

As a kid I wanted to become a life action director and draw in my free time. Back then I had a strong interest in filmmaking and drawing but never really understood that animation is exactly what combines the two. When I got Instagram as a teenager and suddenly saw the amazing art that came from those artists working in that industry I was so hooked that a very strong drive emerged to learn the craft and to be able to create art like that one day.

I have always leaned to creativity in most things I do in life. I was always drawing or creating something as a kid. I always knew it was what I wanted to keep doing.

I used to be an mechanical engineer but I ended the career in 2021 because I want to do things that I truly like. I had been trying to figure out what I truly want to do for a long time until last year I encountered the books of Shaun Tan and the animated film adaptation of one of his books, The Lost Thing, and I found the spark. His artworks remind me of my long-forgotten childhood and how much I used to love drawing when I was a kid. It was then that I knew where I should go next in life.

I have always loved being creative. As I improved more people showed interest in my art and and that fulled my desire to stay focused on my art journey. I did not have a lot of knowledge about 3D but I met a person who introduced me to the world of 3D and encourage me to participate in a blender course. Since then I have been pretty much hooked and I am now studying computer graphic arts.

I decided that I wanted to work in the creative industry around 7 or 8 years ago, when I was a kid. Since then my journey has mainly been one of struggling. Struggling with understanding the amount of work it takes and struggling with sitting down and getting said work done. Starting art school recently has helped me immensely in those two areas, and I finally feel like I have a true sense of direction in my artistic life.

Since getting in contact with guest teachers from the industry, and learning about their experiences.

I've always known I wanted to work in the creative field.

I dreamed about working in the creative industry as a teen, although at the time I was convinced it wasn't a possibility for me! But after a few years of studying engineering I decided to go for it, and attempt to make it as a creative, and I'm very happy that I did!

I've wanted to work in a creative field since I was a young teen, but it took me some years studying engineering before I gained the confidence to really go it, and I've never been happier that I did

I would say always, but I knew I really wanted to when I was around 13, when I started learning about industry

I have always wanted to, but never thought I had the talent or skills for it. That changed in 2018, when I took up training as a hobby. A few years later I tried my hand at 3D modelling/sculpting and instantly fell in love.

I have always dreamt of working in the creative industries, even in my childhood. I was interested in drawing first but later discovered computer graphics art. I still have a love for drawing, but now I mostly work in 3D.

I have wanted to work in creative industries since I was a child, but for a long time I did not know which field I would like to work in. After a semester of classical drawing and exposure to the bachelor programmes at The Animation Workshop, I knew. I am currently a first-year Computer Graphic Arts student.

I realized I wanted to work in videogames when I was six years old and I played Crash Bandicoot for the first time. From that moment on I felt in love with games and everything around it.

When I started studying. Applying for the school I just wanted to improve my storytelling and drawings skills and it slowly dawned on me that some people can life off drawing.

I realized I wanted to pursue a career in concept art during my high school years. Drawing and painting has been a hobby of mine since I was very young, but only later did I realize could pursue a career where I could apply these skills. After high school I applied for a spot at The Animation Workshop and started my journey to be a part of the creative media and entertainment industry.

when i was a kid and loved hearing about other peoples stories when travelling

I am sure, many people have similar stories. But when I was a child I would watch "behind the scenes" footage of Harry Potter DVDs and fell in love with filmmaking. Working in the film industry was a dream that seemed as impossible as becoming a rock star, at least from my perspective. It wasn't until many years later, when all other options failed to give me joy in my worklife, that I decided to pursue a career in the industry. Now, I am finally here.

I used to make a lot of small film-productions as a kid, playing around with storytelling and visual effects. My spark for the creative media continued through my high school years, where I realized that it could become an actual career path. That's why I am currently studying at The Animation Workshop.
