Round of applause for our sponsors

I wanted to learn and work in the entertainment industry because I've always had the eye to make amazing animations or vfx scenes. I've always wanted to do this because I want to show my skills to world so then I know I can be better than what people think I am.

When I enrolled in a creative course to pick up a forgotten passion for the arts only to realize how much the industry has evolved

I realized I wanted to work into this field when i saw a tv series called the rocketeer and couldn't belive my eyes the drawing the colour the animation everything was just beautiful and i loved watching it and wanted to make my own animations and become a animator some day in 2d or 3d job

About two and a half years ago

I have worked in Film and TV for almost 8 years in production office, on set for AD departments and Locations. However, I would like to get into Post Production and really enjoy this niche process

ever since growing up with video games and film in general, at first I didn't think I had it in me then as I kept learning more and more about concept art and sculpting I ended up pulling the trigger and going for it. I realized that I had the creative mind and ability to pursue this carrier, I want to create and inspire people through the screen with my realistic characters and creatures.

In my early teenage years, I have always had a passion for video games and visual effects, and it was in my early teens I realised I wanted to make those things

Throughout my teenage years I dabbled with video editing, photoshop, 3D and various other mediums. However, I never fully considered further developing my skills and becoming a professional. That was until I graduated high school and realised I needed to start learning something fun and useful. That was when I found graphic design, just the thought of creating creative digital work got me excited. That was when I knew I wanted to work in the creative industry.

As a long time gamer and lover of animation I have always wanted to be able to put my own ideas into a 3D space and truly make them come alive.

The first time I watched the first Terminator film.

I have always subconciously wanted to be involved in making games in general. My first game ever was Hercules on the PC that my mom got for me when I was 4 years old. It wasn't up until after dropping out of a course that I found no interest in that I realised I need to pursue my lifelong dream, and I have been actively working to achieve that dream ever since: to be involved in the entertainment industry in general, and the game industry to be specific.

Back in 2015 I started using blender, following tutorials and paying around. I love the freedom of 3D.

I've always been interested but hadn't seriously considered it or my ability to do the work until recently. I left my hospitality job after 10 years and just as I was looking for something new I found the TAFE Diploma course Screen & Interactive Media as part of Job Trainer and thought to myself, what do I have to lose? Even if I wasn't good at it like I feared, the discounted cost of the course was well worth it to try. I can't wait to see what skills I develop.

When I had to make a story in a program called Alice in the 9th grade for an assignment

I come from a creative extended family, from illustrators to architects to advertising artists, and was always supported in being interested in art. I grew up in a time where 3D was blossoming. I spent hours sat down watching Framestore's Walking with Dinosaurs, fascinated with how real it felt. I love the ability of 3D to enhance, stylise and create, and how much this has driven films and ability to tell stories more and more.

2018, after finishing a cert III in game art

When I was in Year 10 I signed up for an art class at my school, and there I was introduced to Blender and began using it to make art. I really enjoyed it and after two years of working with it I realized that working as a 3D artist might be the career path for me.

i loved animation movies so much and i wanted to work in it

I have always been fascinated by CG and digital media. I even made my first video game in primary school. After studying my passions for some time I eventually realised I would need to "get a real job". I landed a web developer job. A year later when the opportunity came up to pursue a Diploma in VFX I was eager to get back to the creative work I loved. My Diploma is nearly complete and I'm now more convinced than ever that this industry is exactly where I want to be

I first realised i wanted to work in the design industry around 2002, the time my daughter was born, which lead me to realise that I wanted to use my lifetime passion for design to create something meaningful.

I have always enjoyed drawing from as young as I can remember, but it wasn't until last year that I realised I could make a career out of it. As I was searching for university courses after finishing secondary school, I found courses in game design and animation. That's when I realised, art can be more than my hobby, but a career I can pursue.
