Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
When i was a kid, a lot of movies inspired me, one in particular was Pixar's the Incredibles, i was a huge fan of superheroes and animation at the time (still a fan of animation) and the Incredibles in particular was amazing and really blew my mind. as i grew up i realized how revolutionary it was, with the many new simulations they created for the film and helped Pienaar future projects and for many and even inspired me to move further into the field of VFX.
After realising aviation wasn't the right industry for me, I turned to my video editing passions and from there, knew I wanted to be in the creative industry. A good friend of mine introduced me to the Bachelor of Film and TV course at UNISA Magill. Having the insight on what the course was about, I wasted no time at all applying for the course and pursuing visual effects.
I always had an interest in film growing up and knew that a creative career path was something I wished to explore. At first I was hesitant about proceeding toward a path in visual effects, as earlier on my eyes were focused on a more practical role in film making. As time passed however, I begun to develop a real interest in the VFX industry and its ever growing possibilities, an interest that was only heightened after joining the course offered at Rising Sun Pictures.
I have always been a creative person from a young age and took interest in film around the age of 11. I started filming short videos and editing them for fun and have had a passion ever since. However, I started to build a skill set for myself and a future career in my high school grade 10 digital media class.
i've bin creating since i was only five. At first it was only 2d so alot of sketching in my early years but as i got more into digital painting in college i started testing the waters with 3d art and just immeditely fell in love. The combination of artistic expression and problem solving all to get the final result of a three dimensional art piece could be animated and come to life. this 3D art form has completly captivated me and i dont see myself ever letting go
It was three years ago, during the Corona virus pandemic, that I realized I wanted to get into that field for the first time. but I was on my third year of studying architecture design, and after I got my bachelor's degree, I started to learn more about game art, and currently I am a student at the ITI Information Technology Institute studying interactive media and game art. I have a passion to be a technical animator using my logical thinking and my design skills.
When I started listening to the developer comentary in Half Life 2, I began to take interest in game design, in particular level design, watching youtube videos and documentaries about game development. Then I studied music theory and started playing electric guitar in Rockschool, in Alcobaça. From here I started making music and post it online, so, I thought maybe I could do this for games aswell
Well, i realize that when in first time i see tsubasa reservoir chronicle, a beatifull anime i see when im young, and my interest growing i joining to theatre club 6 years and everything make me interest in that, have a time when i only see anime like 5 years i repeat animes 4, 5 times just because i liked and see too fast, were i can be creative and espontanious , but i need to search for a lot of references and be organized or everything goes down, and focus on university 5 years right now
Through my degree of Bachelor of Design (Animation & Illustration), I was first shown the programs Nuke, Maya and Houdini. There were some projects we had where we needed to be able to edit a shot; doing some paint & roto, compositing or creating our own 3D animated shots with our own rigged models and backdrops. These programs started to really interest me, and I found it exciting to be able to be a part of what brings a shot to life.
For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed entertaining people, however it wasn't until my penultimate year of school where I fully committed to pursuing a career in the industry. I did this by completing a Certificate II in Creative Industries at the time, which was then followed by a Certificate III in Screen and Media before continuing with the Bachelor of Film and Television at UniSA.
