I’ve always struggles with what I wanted to be or do when I grew up.I’ve worked in many fields and tried various things ,but the one thing I always came back to was art, Specifically 3D. So a few years back I was given an opportunity to stop working and focus on a career. I enrolled in Fullsail university’s bachelor in game art program. As of April this year I graduated with honors and as the valedictorian. Now I’m just trying to push myself further and get into the industry.

Seated in my room, eight months pregnant with my second child, gently caressing my belly while doodling on a piece of paper, I had a moment of realization. I yearned for the artistic freedom and creativity of my youth, missing the joy that drawing once brought me. Reflecting on this, I felt inspired to reclaim that passion and inject it into my current endeavors..

When I first joined a film class back in high school and realized that I could create whatever I wanted, I just had to find out how. The principle at the time asked my teacher and I to paint the hallway doors, ever since then my interest in art grew into a desire to create and be part of a team to collaborate and create with.

Growing up, I was always playing games and drawing, and the first time I saw Yoshitaka Amano's characters in Final Fantasy 3 I fell in love with art in games. I ended up playing JRPGs as I'm from Okinawa, Japan and that was mostly all I had available at the time.

I started making music at the age of 16 and have been in love with creating ever since. I am now learning how to visually create.

My passion for making games came in middle school. I wanted to learn code, so I started making Mad Libs in Ruby. Then, I moved on to doing Object-Oriented programming in Java throughout high school. While I enjoyed coding, I wanted to do fun code. That pushed me towards game design.

At age 10 playing my usual group of sports games

I think I’ve known since I was a kid that I wanted to be an artist of some kind, but I would have to say I was in high school when I realized that there was no other option that would satisfy my passion than something in the creative industry.

It sort of built up over my middle and high school years. At first, it began as me wanting to write a fantasy novel, like LOTR or Harry Potter, then in high school, it progressed into wanting to write for an manga/anime series. While I didn't know it at first, RWBY was the main inspiration for my pursuit into 3D animation. I still wrote until my chance to attend Full Sail, and when I applied, I chose 3D Animation as motivation to work on my visual creativity.

I first realized I wanted to work in the creative industry when I was a young child but being a child in the 90s you often hear that you will not make money as an artist. I spent my early adult years in the Marines, working in education, and as an entraprenuer. While exploring through this part of my life, I always was drawn back to art. It was not until my late 20s that I decided to take art seriously and am now pursuing this opportunity to make this dream career to become a reality.

Growing up, my family would always watch the claymation Holiday movies like Santa Clause Is Comin' to Town and Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. In high school, I took a boot camp on 3D Modeling. However, my family was hostile to any aspirations of going into a Game or Film job. I enrolled in Computer Science at UCSC, but it wasn't until the end of my second year, taking a game design class with UCSC's Tad Leckman that I realized it was a genuine field. Ever since then, I've been interested in 3D Animation and Technical Art.
