I've always wanted to pursue a career in the game industry, it was always a dream. This is just me leaving my comfort zone, not worrying about the expectation of others, and these are my first step towards it.

Video games and Movies have always been a huge part of my life and helping me find ways to be comfortable in my own skin. I've gone through a lot of tragedies that being able to put that into a story has helped me over come and grow. I love the community aspect of a lot of games and watching other be able to grow and share their stories as well. I've always wanted to be able to help people tell their stories, I like being part of helping someone gain confidence and shine.

In 1995 , when ToyStory was released i was blown away at what was possible and wanted to be a part of it

I first realized I wanted to work in this industry when I started playing with Unreal Engine. I was following tutorials on youtube Learning how to code with blueprints and I ended up getting so drawn into it that it led me to research other things which eventually led me to get into Maya. I eventually went to FullSail University and graduated with a degree in Game Art.

When I was in high school, I was part of a program that the school had just created that involved robotics and AutoCAD. Ever since using that program and learning how to make 3D Models in a simplistic form at the time I grew passionate about 3D art and have always had a creative side of trying to make illustrations through Photoshop ever since I was 16. With both of these combinations, I started to put the pieces together and came to the realization that I was passionate about creating 3D Art.

I've always had a fascination with storytelling, so choosing to be an artist was a natural evolution.

I realized I wanted to become a character artist for video games after I played The Last of Us by Naughty Dog. I was absolutely blown away by the high level of care and art put into every character and prop. Although, I felt it was a little late for me I knew then that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I enjoy almost every part of the process from the sculpting to the texturing and I know I still have a long I will be a character artist one day.

I got a degree in game design, however I then discovered how much I truly LOVED 3D modeling. I've been slowly building my portfolio and learning new skills in things like Zbrush, maya, and substance painter since april.

First when I was a kid dreaming of making Nintendo games. And then again after I decided to go to school for it 28 years later.

I first realized I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry when I started gaming. Mainly a PC gamer growing up I became to love the technical side of things, but also the art and worlds the technical side could bring to life. I always knew I wanted to do that. I loved Origin Systems's games like the Ultima Online and Wing Commander series and their slogan 'We Create Worlds' always stuck with me.

I was a junior in high school, about 7 years ago, when I knew I wanted to be an animator or a character artist.

I think the first moment I realized I wanted to help make games and stories was as a kid playing Oblivion. I was always so mesmerized by the detail and cohesiveness of the world I was in so I think that is where my journey started.

I have always had a passion and love for art. I grew up playing video games and grew an appreciation for the work that goes into video games.

This idea started about 3 years ago. I started working in SketchUp and enjoyed modeling 3d architect. This then exposed me to software such as blender and lots of other 3d outlets. As I continued to explore with modeling I took interest in many aspects of 3d art and realized that 3d modeling is apart of a thriving media industry. From this what I love the most, is the idea of being able to create or design something and make it come to life.

I think I first realized I wanted to become an artist and work in the entertainment industry is after a few years of school I didn't care much for what I was doing before. But I sat down and thought, what do I want to do? and that's when I realized I wanted to do 3D art.

As soon as I started watching animated shows and movies, I felt a calling to work on the visual side of these amazing productions. These new worlds, relatable characters, and incredible stories won my heart the moment I saw them, and I aspired to someday create such amazing work to inspire others the same way I was.

Since my early childhood, I had a special appreciation for CGI. Some of my earliest favorite films involved CGI that (at the time) broke boundaries for what was possible, such as Animusic, Bionicle: The Mask of Light, and Toy Story. In around 2013, I discovered Blender, which I kept on a flash drive and experimented with as a hobby. Over the years, that hobby slowly become more passionate until I reached the decision near the end of my time in high school that I would pursue CGI as my career.

Growing up in the world of VHS Disney movies, I always sat and waited until after the credits to see Disney's version of "how it's made." Even as a young child I knew that art and entertainment was my ambition. It wasn't until recently that I realized I loved modeling and environment art more than animating. While the animation process holds a special place in my heart, game art, environment art, and hard-surface modeling are my passions.

I first began taking pictures/videos for my church and editing them. That started in 2012

When I first saw my cousin at his desk in a hotel room (at his own wedding) working on drafting shapes. When he was turning a square into a spiral staircase, I knew what I wanted to do. https://www.artstation.com/vincentlocascio

When I first played the Dark Souls series created by FromSoftware. I realized how realistic, atmospheric and beautiful a 3D environment can be. With all the innovation that is happening around the globe there is a need for more individuals for 3D related expertise. Therefore, I decided to study to be in this industry.

When I was 18 years old I was struggling to decide what I wanted to do with my life. At the time I was already signed up for the military to leave in a few months when I was walking with my dad who gave me an epiphany and said to me, " why don't you make art for video games? You love doing both." So from that day I on and every day since I have strived to become a better artist and used my GI Bill to go to my dream school, Full Sail University.

Well at first I wanted to be a full time artist, but insurance is a fundamental in life. And it's quite a stengy process in America. Also my ultimate goal still would have been a long shot, sense no one in my family has interest connected to any creative industry, or even the benefit of media. It's difficult to stay motivated when your family is consistently down playing the work you do. Can't blame them sense they receive results for their efforts. I'm taking matters into my own skills.
