Final Year Projects

It's been a year now since the last Rookies of the Year Awards, how time flies! I've learned a lot more since the last time I entered, so here are some projects I've done throughout the year!

Captured

Captured is a collaborative project between me and my classmates (everything shown here are the parts where I've contributed). The story revolves around 2 sisters, Winona and Taylor, and how Winona has to confront the spirits of the past and find out what happened to her sister 10 years ago.

Taylor

When the story was developing, we had to figure out a way to create more characters to make our world more believable, and we eventually came up with the idea where the story takes place both in the past and the present, which gave us the opportunity to design 2 versions for the 2 sisters.

Bride and Groom

One of the handful of dangerous spirits that caused Taylor to disappear 10 years ago, when it came to designing them, I tried to show that even death can never pull the wedded couples apart, hence the hand and both bodies melding into one, with the hands holding a cake cutting knife.

Abandoned Mansion (Living Room)

One of the environment scenes for the story, this was a matte painting done with Blender and Photoshop, it was definitely interesting to be able to use 3D software for environment art.

Assorted Matte Painting Practices

Here are some more Matte Painting practices that I did during one of my semesters. (The Abandoned Mansion piece is also one of these pieces actually)

Final Semester Project

For my final semester project, we were given the chance to try and create individual IPs as one of our assignments, I won't lie when I say I was beyond excited to be able to create characters with quite a lot of creative freedom!

Seven Deadly Muses

This project was born from one question I had: "What music genre would fit each of the Seven Deadly Sins?", and with that, my mind raced to pump out sketches for each of them, while constantly trying to pinpoint the music genres by discussing with friends and classmates.

Story

The Seven Deadly Muses refers to 7 musical individuals, each specializing in a genre of music. They were offered a place in the most well-known clubs in the world, Olympus, where if one of them wins in a tournament based music contest, they will get a permanent gig in Olympus, thereby setting them for life, since the owner of the club is known to be insanely rich.

When it came to the type of project this is, I decided to make it into a rhythm game with visual novel elements where you can choose any of the 7 characters and play through their intertwining stories.

Personal Artworks (Fanart and Original)

Here are some artworks that I did when I had some time for myself!

(Left: A redesign of one of my old original character, Right: A fanart of Magallan from Arknights)

(Both: Fanart of Eve and 1010 from No Straight Roads)

(From the viral Sailor Moon redraw trend)

Thank you for looking at my stuff!
I hope you have a wonderful day and stay safe!
