About Me

Hello! My name is Rongyu Li. I just graduated from School of Visual Arts two weeks ago. I'm a 3d motion graphic designer. I'm passionate about what I do. I really enjoy the progress bringing my imagination into real life.

1. REEL 2019

This is my demo reel that combines all the works I did during my senior year in School of Visual Arts and De-yan Studio last year.

2. LEGEND OF THE DEMON CAT - TITLE DESIGN

Instructor: Christopher Palazzo
Direct/Design/Animation: Rongyu Li

Description

This is a personal project I did in my motion portfolio class taught by Christopher Palazzo at School of Visual Arts. I chose to do a title sequence for Legend of the Demon Cat which is a Chinese movie released in 2019. The movie is about a mysterious cat in the imperial palace. The cat was a pet of the emperor’s lover who was buried alive 30 years ago. And the cat always wanted people to find out the truth.

5. THANKS RICHARD

Instructor: Christopher Palazzo
Direct/Design/Animation: Rongyu Li

Description

Our dear department chair, Richard Wilde, is retiring this year. I made this animation as my respect to him, because he really did a lot for us. We cannot thank him enough. In the animation, those balloons flying out of the building, our school, represent him, and all the balloons has different colors, which means he let us persuing our own style in a really high level. I modeled, animated, and rendered the building from scratch.
