CYPHER
"You have lost the right to your body, earn it back". This is the first thing Star hears when he wakes up in the Cypher. "I don't think there's a body for me to return to". This is what Tiny realises after being stuck in the Cypher for too long. Follow the two in the psychological and mystery thriller game.
Cypher
Below is the concept for Cypher displayed through a game deck I created for my year 13 CMP. Cypher is a game that incorporates aspects from RPG and Visual novel based games and is in both the mystery thriller and psychological thriller based genre. It follows the belief that humans each have 9 lives and must have succeeded by their final life in order to move onto the next level of existence. You play as Tiny and Star to help them "earn the right" to their bodies once again.
Environments
D.E.D (Dog eat Dog station)
In each level of the game the image "quality" represents the characters consciousness. E.g. In the first level of the Cypher we enter D.E.D world, where Star has no memory of his real life and has no desire to earn his body back, I used pixel art to represent his consciousness being almost non existent and he is completely "knocked out".
Environments
The Room
This is Star's bedroom; it is his only connection to reality and due to it's isolating and oppressive tone whenever he enters he understands quickly that his life pre-Cypher is not a place he should be in a rush to return to.
Extra
This is the main concept art in the correct rotation, outside of the deck.
