Emma Sekiro
Rookie contest. I did two project one is my modeling of Emma from the game sekiro and the other one is a creature modeling .
CHARACTER MODELING
I am delighted to present my projects created for the Rookies competition. For this challenge, I took on the task of creating two 3D characters. I drew inspiration from Emma from the game Sekiro for one, and for the other, a ghoul creature. This marked my first adventure into the realms of character modeling and lookdev.
EMMA
REFERENCES
For the references, I wanted to create a realistic Emma : that's why I used portraits of young asian women to help me achieve this goal.
CHARACTER MODELING
I used the base mesh from Zbrush to start my modeling. Then I tweaked the proportion to follow my refs. When I was happy with the result, I started doing the retopo inside maya.
CLOTHES
Regarding the clothes, I used Marvelous Designer to create and simulate my garments.
TEXTURING
I used Mari and Substance Painter for the texturing. For the skin, I painted and projected the map from TextureXyz inside Mari. And the rest was done inside Substance.
HAIR
For the hair, I used Xgen : I find it quite powerful and simple to use. I used a lot of descriptions to achieve the result I wanted.
EYES
I modeled the eyes inside Maya : the corneas, the scleras, the iris, the pupils, the caruncles and the meniscus. To obtain a realistic result, I projected a scan of the iris and the sclera inside Mari and then did the shading in Maya.
CREATURE MODELING
I did this piece inside Zbrush, texture in Substance Painter and then rendered it inside Marmoset toolbag.
TEXTURING
The texturing for the creature was fun to do, I wanted to have a kind of ghoul with some peeling skin.
RENDERING
For this project, I wanted to try Marmoset toolbag, to have an online render .
