I'm happy to present my real-time character, which I've been working during mentorship term at Think Tank Online.

                                                            Heimdall

This character was created during my mentorship at Think Tank Training Centre online. It was based on the concept by Gianluca Rolli.
Huge thanks to my mentor Kestutis Rinkevicius for all feedback and input.
Hope you enjoy it!

Reference board. There are never enough of them, the challenging part with reference board is to stop trying to find new pictures :)

Blocking was done in Zbrush. For High Poly i used Zbrush, and for hard surface pieces i used Maya.

I started the head sculpt from a sphere, then used the ZWrap tool to apply the mesh head from Texturring XYZ. For skin pore details i used VFace texture pack from Texturring XYZ.

One of the interesting aspects of this project was creating ornaments.
In order to make them, I made a base for the armor with UV, after which I used a script to make this base flat using UV. Next, I made ornaments on the flat surface. After which, using the same script, I returned the base, along with the ornaments, to its original form. After which I made the final adjusments in Zbrush
The same workflow i used to create leather armor.

For all fabric and wrap pieces, i used Marvelous Designer. After Marvelous I export all garment in Maya for retopology, then Zbrush for sculpting and details.

For another parts work flow was basic. Base mash in Maya, Zbrush for sculpting and details.

Retopology i did in Topogun.
UV in Rizom UV.
For baking I used the Marmoset Toolbag 4.

For texturing i used Substance Painter.

Example how i approach texturing

For hair and fur cards i used GS Curve Tool in maya and hair texture i did in Fibershop

I rendered the character in Marmoset Toolbag 4 with Ray Tracing. The character was posed In Zbrush using Transpose Master.

Thank you for watching!
