Sword of the Martyr

This sword was a project I did during sculptober, a sculpting challenge where you sculpt something everyday for the month of October. The theme was "gothic". I took some inspirations from gothic cathedrals to sculpt various parts of the sword. I then recreated a low poly version of the sword to be baken inside of Substance 3D Painter where I then proceeded with the texturing. For this, I needed a story to tell through the texturing. Then came the idea of making a martyr sword, it came as I was playing a DnD game where I myself was a Martyr. So I asked myself what type of sword would I love to wield as a martyr and this is the outcome. The blood stains adds some story to the sword, a recent duel that might have decided the fate of all humankind. Or a fierce battle to clense a village from a cursed witch. Nobody knows, but the one who suffers so others may live.
