A showcase of my environment design work, this entry features imaginative worlds for film and interactivity. These environments were created with a focus on immersion, drawing viewers into their unique landscapes.

Environment Generalist Portfolio 

Welcome to my entry! This project features three immersive worlds designed in Unreal Engine 5. My focus was to create eye-catching scenes that could easily be integrated into film or adapted for interactivity. 

Alabaster Forest

A misty forest designed in Unreal Engine; Alabaster Forest is an atmospheric 3D environment created using the new Procedural Generation Plugin in Unreal Engine 5.2. The chair and table were modeled in Blender 3D and textured in Substance Painter. The goal was to design a surreal environment playing with pastel colors and immersive audio.

Coppercrust River

This environment was made by hand painting foliage onto the landscape in natural, organic layers. All shaders were altered or changed in Unreal Engine, while the falling leaves and firefly effects were created using Niagara. The objective was to blend energetic, bold colors with the soothing sensation of running water.

Aurora Desert

Inspired by the recent news coverage on the Northern Lights, this environment was also designed using PCG in Unreal Engine 5.3. The Aurora effect is a shader that animates a texture I created in GIMP. Editing the foliage shaders to feature emissive materials was crucial to creating the colorful, electric, nighttime effect.

Aurora Borealis shader uses a texture handmade in GIMP. Foliage is from Quixel Megascans with shaders edited in Unreal Engine. Some audio from freesound.org. Music composed in Apple GarageBand. Video edited in Shotcut.
