After much work, I added all the armor and armor engravings to height maps. I used the paths feature for almost everything, which was an invaluable tool as I needed sharp and precise shapes and flexibility. Most of the decorative designs were made by me and imported to Substance as alphas, once again I used paths to add them to the height map.
once all the stone details were added on, I added the cracks originally in the concept art, which reveal an emissive texture that also reveals the eye of whoever is trapped underneath...
All that's left to do now is add some dirt, greenery, and debris on and around the statue.

after finishing the concept on paper, I sketched the basic idea on the actual model just as a visual guide moving forward.
next, I made the base stone texture, focusing mainly on the colors and where the stone details would be smoothed and darkened by the environment and people interacting with the sculpture. I added the facial features by painting on hight maps to add displacement. most of it was painted by hand, but I also used a couple of custom alphas I made for the mouth and nose.
Next, I will work on starting the armor and adding detail to the base, before moving on to dirt and moss that I want scattered over the scene.

Right now I just sketched out the basic idea for the model. Next, I will start blocking everything out on the meet mat model to better understand how everything will fit together.
