FUEL STOP  ~

This image started as a digital painting exercise for one of my classes at Flinders University/CDW Studios. I started with simple B&W composition studies, then developed one of these into a more detailed B&W painting. After doing some colour studies, I worked the design into a finished piece.

EDGE-WORLD EXPLORATION  ~

This project began with a very short brief where I had to imagine a volatile planet dominated by active volcanoes and towering, alien buildings. 

For the image above, I aimed to create a key-frame shot showing the astronauts' first sighting of the planet's alien inhabitants. The style of this image would be looser and more painterly than the establishing shot below.

This second image was designed as an establishing shot, showing the towers perched on the flanks of the volcanoes. I tried to explore a more realistic style here, incorporating many more photographic elements into the  image.

THE AMBUSH  ~

This project started as an entry for the Artstation "Beneath the Waves" competition. For this image, I used a basic 3D block-out in Maya to help establish the composition.

These two images represent some voluntary work I did on a friend's treatment for a six part drama series. This is the earliest project in my Rookies submission, completed before I started studying at Flinders University/CDW Studios.

This sci-fi corridor design and 3D block-out was created for a Design Fundamentals class at uni.
