Round of applause for our sponsors

Hi! I wanted to take this opportunity to show some of my projects I did in my free time.

MASHA

This is my first completed character for my demo reel. The amazing concept is done by Sergi Brosa, though I took some liberties, especially regarding the hair.

Software Used:
ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Arnold, Nuke

SHARKMAN

Concept done by  Heng Tang. One of the difficulties I had with this piece was the anatomy. Since only the front view was visible in the concept I had to think about how the back looks like. It took a long time and many references until I was satisfied.
I also had to think about how the swords looked like and was influenced by the amazing designs of Ghost of Tsushima when making this.

Software Used:
ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Marmoset

SAMURAI ROBOT

This was a concept done by Bu Zhou and as I was working on it I also got the idea to model the full body underneath the kimono. It was quite difficult to imagine how it could look like and as for the projects before I had to search for many references to get some idea.

Software Used:
ZBrush, Maya, Affinity Photo, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, Marmoset

MIZARU

For my lates project I wanted to model an Anime character and use the Unreal Engine for the cel shading. I decided on Mizaru from the Anime "Last Period". Her design is pretty cool, especially the skateboard on one concept I found. One of the challenged  had with this project was how to decide which shadows were painted in and which I left to the shader. The baked AO in substance helped a lt with this. Most of the outlines are done with an inverted hull, though some are also drawn into the texture.

Software Used:
ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Unreal Engine
