please have a look at my final year project in interior design
TITLE :
CONSECUTIVE ODDS
BRIEF :
To design a co-living place for GRAB at 2, Jalan Hang Kasturi, City Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
The concept is inspired by corresponding Grab’s logo design to an overpass and highway traffic. Initially, the concept of connected will be interpreted into staircases on account of its characteristic of forming connection between floors. Second, by centralizing the position of the staircase it will create a sense of continuity between the staircases. Third, through the curves of the staircases complementing one another it creates an impression of inclusivity. The outcome will add characteristic to the interior, peaking interest of the guest with its capricious curves.
THIRD FLOOR
The idea of placing a glass pool on the edge of third floor is to allow the caustics of the pool being projected into the interior adding another element to the ambient environment. Location of each facilities revolves around the atrium to synchronize the overall mood of the users and be made aware of their existence.
SECOND FLOOR
Users are introduced to the vivid atmosphere of the atrium using glass walls with the curving stairs serving as the architectural focal point. Private rooms are provided with curtains for privacy while public areas are not in order to create the vital environment.
FIRST FLOOR
A courtyard is implemented to alleviate the working environment and provide a soothing sight for the users above.
GROUND FLOOR
The reason for an atrium is to allow the sun to shine into the interior with stones and trees giving the users a peace of mind. Due to the higher ceiling heights of the ground floor, loft units are implemented with a 45 degree angled glass wall to create a more optimal view to the atrium.
LOWER GROUND FLOOR
The lower ground floor are built with masculine materials in contrary to the gym. Rented storage is provided to the users in the case of excessive belongings.
