This is result of an IP development done during the Concept Art Program at Syn Studio in Montreal. My main objective was to explore the sci-fi genre to create interesting shapes inspired by contemporary design while mixing natural and synthetic subjects.

The story is set in the future, maybe in the 23rd century, when Earth is in a near collapse and the civilization is being helped by aliens. During the recovery these aliens share their technologies and their DNA so that humans can use it and guarantee the planet's well being.
Throughout the recovery process, a human (Ereshkigal) infused with alien DNA decided to use his new found abilities for personal gains. The odd behavior was noticed and an alien emissary (Innana) and its agent were sent to check on the situation.
From there the conflict begins and Innana has to deal with captivity, being rescued by a fellow alien creature, and solving the issue of human corruption.

------------------------------

This is the Alien Innana, an emissary sent to Earth to investigate a corruption involving humans and the restoration of our planet. The idea was to show the anatomy somewhat related to humans and also show a bit of the spacesuit and its gears.

Initial sketches and illustrations were done in Photoshop and more detailed pieces using 3D and painting on top.

Next is Ninshubur, the robot agent that follows Innana. The idea was to mix hard surface with organic joints, like tendons. Each joint has a nuclear power device to generate electricity and move the body.

All done in Photoshop.

This is Ereshkigal, the human responsible for the corruption occurring during Earth's restoration. He used the alien technology for his own benefits and ended up being the target of an investigation.

Done in Photoshop.

The next is Innana's personal spaceship used to travel between the alien planet and Earth. At first the idea was to make it similar to a traditional UFO in a circular or triangular shape but the silhouette wasn't interesting enough.

Initial sketches and illustrations were done in Photoshop and more detailed pieces using 3D and painting on top.

Below are the creatures, each of them are from a different planet. The first one is The Hunter from Earth, a cyborg and DNA modified panther. A bit of human DNA was applied to it changing its intelligence and body proportions. Some whip-like limbs were added to it as sensors and weapons.

The second one is called Gala-tura, an alien creature sent to Earth to help Innana scape the captivity.  It's  based on a manta ray and it's function is around stealth missions, it can change its appearance like a chameleon and it can glide through the air with its wings open. It's an engineered creature made with alien bio materials.

The hunter was all made in photoshop and Gala-tura using a 3D base and painted on top.

The first environment is the outside of the tower on Earth where high officials, diplomats and emissaries use to meet. It's a skyscraper  with platforms for spaceship docking and maintenance. The idea was to use contemporary architecture and shapes as inspiration to create new forms.

The initial sketches were done using mostly photobash and the final piece using 3D and photo textures.

This next environment is inside the previous tower. It shows the podium where people and aliens gather to discuss and make decisions about the future of Earth. In the middle there's an alien device which shares new technologies using Artificial Intelligence to make calculations and predictions.

Mostly done in 3D, with some photo textures and painting.

The last environment is the alien city, where the main character Innana comes from. It's home to an advanced civilization that found a way to extract the planet's resources while being 100% sustainable doing almost no damage to the nature.

Mostly done in 3D, with some photo textures and painting.
