Alexandre Mougenot - Character Modeling / Texturing
Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be with you all here. I am currently a student in my last year at MOPA school, and I am happy to present you through my portfolio, the outcome of my studies in CG Animation. https://alexandremougenot0.wixsite.com/portfolio https://www.artstation.com/alexmougenot
THE BEAST
This artwork is based on the fantastic work of Aaron Blaise ! During the preproduction of our graduation film, we decided with Méline Pischedda, a great friend, to do a project to test our pipeline, and to get familiar with ACES, which we incorporated into the film quite early. I was in charge of doing all the modeling, texturing, lookedev, lighting and rendering. While Méline, did an awsome job on the grooming.
Software used :
ZBrush / Maya / Substance Painter / Yeti / Marvelous Designer / Arnold / Nuke / Photoshop / ACES
KOSCHEI THE IMMORTAL
I am a fan of Denis Zilber's work. I very love all the shapes he puts in all the designs. I followed the development of his "Koschei The Immortal" illustration on instagram, and when he finished it, I was impressed with the quality of his image. I wanted to reproduce his work in 3D. I made this image at the end of my 4th year at Mopa School.
Fun fact : Koschei is a character of Russian tales. His main function is to kidnap Princesses.

BIG EYES SHARKY
Based on the fantastic work of Florianne Becker. I did this project during a week end to make a break from my graduation film. I needed to do a new project.

GORILLA
After watching Kong Skull Island, I thought the sculpt of King Kong was impressive. So I asked about breakdowns and making of, and I discovered that Kris Costa was the author of this work. He is an artist who inspires me a lot in my work, so I wanted to make a bust of a realistic Gorilla. It was also an opportunity for me to use the Aces workflow for the first time, which is amazing, and to get back to grooming on Yeti and Maya.

CAVEMAN AND HIS PEDIGREE RACING RAPTOR
I discovered Dave Neale's work when he participated in the Character Design Challenge on Facebook. He posted his Caveman which I loved. I sent him a message to ask his permission to reproduce his concept in 3D. It made him very happy to see his work adapted by someone else. I love his characters, they have interesting and fun shapes to reproduce in 3D.

AMERICAN GOTHIC
I am nearing the end of the production of my graduation film. In order to take a break from this project, I decided to reproduce a famous painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood. It was a great opportunity to work on two portraits and to get back to Grooming.
