Game Animation Showreel

Hi there! Charmaine here. This is a collection of animation works that I have done throughout my time in 3DSense. This journey has definitely been a difficult but fruitful one. I am so grateful and proud of my journey and the help that I have received throughout. Hope you enjoy it!

Zelda Intro

This is the first animation shot that I have done in my animation specialization. I learnt to make my poses more dynamic and how to do the layout properly. It was tough animating the camera and the spin but I’m very glad with how it turned out!

Special thanks to my lecturer, Azarudeen Shanavas for helping me out with this shot! Hope you enjoy Zelda with a mighty Axe.

Attack Combo

Deciding on how the attack combos were going to look was interesting! It was a blast differentiating between the light, medium attacks with the finishing blow. I delved deeper into the weight shift and showed how heavy the axe is. It was also quite challenging as Zelda constantly changes her hand to hold the axe. In the end, I am quite proud of the outcome!

Special thanks once again to Azarudeen Shanavas for the valuable feedback as well as the rest of my classmates giving me suggestions to improve my animation. Comments and feedback are welcome, thank you!

Special Attack

This was a fun one! I planned to change my weapon of choice into a magic staff so that I could freely explore another attack without the restraints of an Axe. Begone heaviness! I also spent a decent amount of time figuring out how I wanted the special effects to look like, since it was a charging magic spell. I might have went overboard with the effects a few times before I dialed it down. This was rendered in Unreal Engine 4!

Thanks to my lecturer, Azarudeen Shanavas as well and feel free to comment, thank you!

Hit and Death Progression Reel

Arghh! I’ve been hit! This animation is a hit and death. Learning about the bounces and the offsets of an organic body falling was fun! The multiple motion trials were intriguing indeed.

Here is a progression shot alongside it! Special thanks to my lecturer, Azarudeen Shanavas for helping me out and refining it such that it’s polished! Would love to have some feedback, thank you and I hope you enjoyed it!
