Round of applause for our sponsors

Hi everyone! My name is Arthur Kosyan and I'm currently 17. I am a self-taught artist who loves making characters for games. I believe that there's nothing more interesting and fascinating than a human life if told well so in my projects I try not only to deliver the best result I can in terms of visuals but also to tell a story and evoke feelings. Hope you like it!

Jaina Proudmoore, the Daughter of the Sea

Let's start with Jaina Proudmoore. Jaina is one of my favourite characters in World of Warcraft. Her story is so heartbreaking. She sacrificed almost everything she had for peace but that still wasn't enough. She's been through the loss of loved ones and betrayal and it changed her forever

Sculpting was done in Zbrush with the help of Marvelous Designer for simulating fabric
Retop & UVs in Maya
Baking in Marmoset Toolbag 4
Texturing in Substance Painter
Posing was done in Zbrush and VFX was made and placed in Maya + Photoshop
Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4

                                       Some detail closeups

I also tried to recreate some shots from Blizzard's animated short Warbringers: Jaina (this one)
This was a great opportunity to sculpt different emotions. I think these renders are my favourite from the whole project

Beware the Daughter of the Sea!

Coraline

Well, sometimes you need to relax from all the storytelling and work on something simple yet interesting. I wanted to push my anatomy skills so I chose this awesome concept by Christophe Young https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oAY1wm

Also I wanted to experiment with render engines a little, so besides rendering in Zbrush and Marmoset I tried Arnold in Maya

Senior Archaeologist Ashley

Ashley is young but already very experienced. She comes from a family of archaeologists and loves to explore. Ashley can't go on any expedition without her special toolkit she got from her father when she was 12 which he had gotten from his father. She believes that by constantly learning  and asking questions, even the biggest mysteries can be solved.

Based on cool concept by Avetino https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Pob6En

I decided to change some proportions and design of some elements for the sake of realism

The main purpose of this project was to improve my realtime props creation workflow so here are some of the props

Ok, let me just stop here before I added something unnecessary 😅 thank you very much for stopping by and scrolling through everything, that means a lot to me!
