Rookie Awards 2024

Electric Theatre Collective was founded in 2011, Let’s put it simply. We are the Electric Theatre Collective and we make visual effects for visual productions that people watch on screens. On any screen in fact – from the tiniest spy device to the largest cinema in the galaxy, including the really big ones in alien civilisations where they gather in their trillions to laugh scathingly at humankind’s pathetic attempts at video technology.

Well we’re slowly stifling that laughter, we can tell you that for sure, and our expertise and influence – at least on this planet – is spreading throughout the visual creative arts…Film, adverts, music videos – you name it, we’ll enhance and bring to life whatever your wild and twisted imagination can conspire to invent. And if you can’t be bothered with the imagining part we’ll do that too.

Opportunity

This amazing opportunity is open to aspiring artist who wants to be part of Electric Theatre Collective’s team and work as a 3D Generalist or Junior Compositing artist. The aim is to help kick start their career, working amongst renowned artists and gaining valuable insight into working life within the VFX industry

Eligibility

• Entrants must be 18 years or older and have less than one year of professional experience in any of the creative industries featured in the contest categories, as of June 1, 2024. For further information please read the rules.
• You must be competent as a Junior 3d Generalist or Junior Compositor.
• Must be motivated to work in an amazing studio and witness the production of blockbuster content.
• Must be able to complete the internship during the second half of 2024.
• Must legally be allowed to work in the__UK__. (Working visa not provided).

Judging Criteria

The judges will be considering your overall presentation, technical skills, creative skills, variety of content, and employment potential. Treat your entry like a job interview.

Entry Requirements and Guidelines

• Individual entries only; no team or professional projects.
• Explain Your Work: Provide brief descriptions for each animation, detailing your creative process, techniques used, and any challenges encountered.
• Professional Presentation: Ensure your entry is well-organized, visually engaging, and easy to understand.
• Read the Rules to confirm eligibility.

Prize Details

• Internship (onsite in London or virtual)
• 3-month duration.
• No accommodation provided.
• Fully paid position.

How to enter

1. Click Submit Entry button to create an entry page.
2. Upload your best images, videos and supporting media using our entry page builder.
3. Select ‘Career Opportunities > ETC’ as your nominated category.
4. Add details including a cover image, title, description, tags, and software used.
5. Accept rules and confirm eligibility.
6. Confirm & Submit your entry to judging panel.
