This category honors exceptional short films that showcase mastery in visual effects, blending creativity and technical expertise to enhance storytelling. Whether you’re part of a team or an individual artist, this is a spectacular opportunity to display your visual effects prowess and captivate a global audience.

Who Should Enter?

This category is ideal for:

• Visual Effects Teams: Collaborative groups who have created a film with outstanding visual effects, demonstrating skill in integrating CGI with live-action footage.
• Individual VFX Artists: Solo artists who have crafted a film that heavily features visual effects, showcasing their ability to create believable and immersive CGI.

Important Notes

• Films must predominantly feature visual effects.
• Submit a completed film or teaser trailer. Individual assets or clips are not eligible.
• Films on the Film Festival Circuit are accepted (password required for secure viewing).
• Include supporting material to showcase the film’s VFX creation process and challenges.
• Team entries are allowed. One team member should submit the project and tag collaborators.
• Films must not have been released prior to June 2022.

Judging Criteria

Judges will evaluate entries based on:

• Technical skill and innovation in visual effects.
• Integration of computer generated elements with live-action footage.
• Overall impact and enhancement of the film’s narrative through visual effects.

3. Select ‘Film of the Year > Visual Effects’ as your category.
4. Add cover image, title, description, tags, and software used.
5. Accept rules and confirm eligibility.
6. Confirm & Submit your entry to the judging panel.
