Kèrpiron
I'm happy to share my first project created at Skyup Academy, sculpted with ZBrush and then rendered with V-Ray in Maya.
This is a Kèrpiron, a creature half-horse and half-wolf, born from my personal reinterpretation of the Kelpie, a malevolent spirit from Scottish mythology.
The first phase of the work consisted in creating and studying the character primarily through an in-depth research of references, then through drawing, and subsequently creating a maquette with Monster Clay, which helped me better understand the shapes and volumes of my character.
Once this phase was completed, I moved on to sculpting my creature with ZBrush. Below, you can see the different steps which are divided into blockout, secondary details, and finally tertiary details.
Once the sculpting phase was finished, I imported my character into Maya where I assigned a material to it and set up the lights for the final render.
