Ever since I was a child I was inspired by the characters I saw in games and films and wanted to create them myself.

When I was younger I always loved art but didn't think much about a career in it until I was watching Disney's Aristocrats and my grandma told me that everything was hand drawn in the film and these films were made my people. I finally had my opening to use my artistic skills as a career.

In high school, however, I pursued a "practical" career in software development before switching to 3D animation.

I first realized I wanted to work in the industry when I bought myself a 3D printer and messed around with 3D software's like fusion 360 and maya I found making models tons of fun and decided to further my skills by going to Capilano's 3D animation program

I've wanted to work in a creative industry since I could hold a pencil. However, my passion for CG art came from Khan Academy's Pixar in a box course in elementary school. After finding out that I could make the work that filled most of my days, I knew there was no other profession I would want to do besides this.

When I was about 7 or 8 I think. I have changed career path ideas a few times but I always knew I wanted to create

2 years ago, I was watching Avatar 1 again and I felt I need to make something like those incredible works in films

I love Marvel movies, so the first time I watched the Avengers was 7 years ago.

Back in elementary school I would find myself watching the directors' commentary on animated films like The Incredibles, just for fun! I always enjoyed writing and drawing. But I was always convinced, for some reason, that you had to be a very math-and-science-brained person to make it in the animation industry, so I gravitated more toward writing. I eventually learned this wasn't the case, and gained the confidence to apply to Capilano University's 2D program in 2016, and 3D program in 2020.

I have always loved watching movies and series, especially fantasy and sci-fi stories since I was young, so I don't have a specific time when I realised I wanted to work in creative industries because it is what I have always wanted since I could remember.

When I first drew a creepy robot which another student in 7th grade, said it was very unsettling. From there I realized I loved the creative process into creating a "story" (whether it may be characters, environments, or a prop) from there I jumped from art medium to art medium. In addition to enjoying plenty of cinema, video-games, and comics I was sure this is a path I want to go down on. Highlights being the Guilty Gear series, Spider-verse, and Blade runner.

When I was 9, I began making movies through iMovie on an iPad. I loved the process, from a young age I’ve always had the grit and motivation to tell my stories to an audience.

Throughout high school, I have always been passionate working with traditional mediums. I became more enthusiastic about digital art during my senior year and discovered my true calling in animation.

I‘ve been a fan of drawing and painting since I was in elementary school, yet I did not want to become a traditional artist. In high school. My teacher introduced me into the world of media art. In addition, I was a big fan of VFX movies. That is when I decided to put my love of art into visual effects industry.

Hi. My name is Lynn, a junior texture/look development artist. I first realized that I want to join in VFX industry after I watched the Avengers: Infinity war. The film was breathtaking. I loved how all those creatures look realistic and unique. I wanted to explore the post-production process in the film industry, so I started to study digital visual effects.

Hello everyone, My name is Luo, a junior environment generalist. I developed my passion for imagery dynamics when I first picked up the camera at 16. I started out as a film school student and photographer before I decided to explore the world of VFX. I am particularly interested in creating photoreal CG environment.

When I was younger, watching action movies have always been my favorite hobby; I even started making short action films on my phone. It got to a point where I realized, "wow, real life is boring! Where are all the magics and explosions?". Fast forward to high school, I impulsively chose 3D animation as an elective just to try it out and learn something new. That class sparked my interest in VFX. I thought to myself, "how can I combine animation with making live-action movies?"

I've been making short films with my cousins when I was 10 or so, which evolved to making Lego stop motion. I learned 3D animation in High school, and transitioned into visual effects in university, as it aligned with what I wanted to do more. I'm pursuing a career in compositing, but I also plan to learn simulations and FX as another passion :)

I have always had a passion for storytelling that drove me study film and continue improving my skills focused on 3D lighting for film and animation.
