Round of applause for our sponsors

I've always been interested in art and have enjoyed drawing since my childhood. It was during the pandemic, following the completion of my sixth-form studies, that I decided to pursue a career in the industry by taking my first step in that direction choosing to study animation at Norwich University of the Arts. I am now in my third year at the university shortly going into my fourth and final year. Excited to learn and develop further as an animator and an artist. Instagram-@Aidan_boulton_art

I realised this back when I use to make youtube videos and loved the creative process of making videos

When playing games as a kid, I gravitated towards sandbox experiences that give you creative freedom. Eventually I decided to take my appreciation for that quality of games into creative practices. Through my years of study at A level & University I've accumulated experience in Blender & Unreal Engine 5, and i'm continuing to grow my skill set in working with UE to create games. Over the past year specifically, I've been growing more familiar with blueprint programming and level design.

When I was 8 years old I loved playing Spider-Man 2 on the PS2. Instead of playing the game I just roamed around the map, looking at the amazing environments and pretending to be Spider-Man!

I realised when I was in secondary school and my love for creativity sparked.

I remember the feelings of excitement and awe I had as a teenager when I first played the 2010 Sci-Fi first person shooter Halo: Reach. I was fascinated by the inner workings of the game and how aspects such as level and narrative design could invoke strong and emotional responses from the audience. Later down the line, that fascination shaped into an ambition of becoming a games designer when I enrolled in a Games Art & Design course at college.

Ever since I was younger, I always enjoyed creating my fictional worlds and characters and as I started to consider a career I thought the arts was the best way to express myself and make things for others.

I played my first match of League in 2013, seeing the splash arts (that kept getting better) and the original character designs has always been fascinating to me, but the idea of making something like it felt distant until I started college in 2019 where I basically began my art journey from step 1. I know I have a lot to learn but I am proud of where I have come since.

I first realised I wanted to first work in the creative industry when I helped assist in my secondary school's performance of Mary Poppins. I created several physical props for the musical, which then lit a fire inside of me to want to start going into a creative specialism.

Around 2016 when I picked up Overwatch for the first time was when I started to get interested in the industry - then, a year later, when I picked up Titanfall 2 I really got invested in the idea of becoming a games artist. My own personal projects in the years that followed lead to an interest in level design as well as art, and so here I am.

I realised from a young age my passion for making art, While other children wanted to spend their time outside playing tag, I'd much rather be inside drawing. Art has always been my outlook in life, and whether it's illustration, Art therapy, graphic design or Concept art, I know there's no place I'd rather be than in the art industry.

When I learned the difference between concept art and illustration I realized I wanted to work as a concept artist.

Ever since my youth, a career in the creative field has been my fervent dream. At the age of 14, I began devoting considerable time to practicing portrait drawing, while also excelling in my art-based GCSE subjects. Exploring various artistic avenues, including graphic design in college, I further discovered a deep affinity for concept art—a realm where I could challenge myself and cultivate a more professional and advanced skill set.

As a kid, I would always be watching animated tv shows or movies and I was always fascinated by the processes! Even now, I'm still feel the same way about animation!

I was an introverted teen and used music, drawing and cartoons as a form of escapism, I would eventually develop an eye for envisioning my own worlds and characters as time went on and I pursued art. By the time I was approaching the end of my 1st year of college; I was certain that animation was the way to go. It is an unrivalled window into the untamed mind of a creator and is the canvas that I want to use to inspire and uplift the audiences of the world in the same way that inspired me.

I began drawing seriously during the Covid lockdowns, and realised that I had a passion for it and that I wanted to pursue a career that would develop my skills as an artist. Also being a fan of gaming, I naturally gravitated to a Games Art and Design course and am specialising in Concept Art

I've been drawing from the moment I could pick up a pencil, but realised that I wanted to be a professional artist after reading my first manga, when I was 10. I started off wanting to make my own comics, and as I developed an interest in video games over the next few years, I shifted to wanting to work as an artist in the games industry.

I've always used drawing to express myself and create stories and characters. Watching cartoons was my favourite pastime; I always wondered how they got made. Once I figured out what an animator was, I was immediately hooked.

I have always been very interesting in creative subjects; I loved drawing as a child, I developed skills in textiles and design at schools, and developed a love of VFX through films and television.

Since I was a child, I've always wanted to work in the art industry, especially for games.

Ever since I was young, I have always been interested in the arts. I come from quite a creative family as my Mother is a Graphic Designer by trade and my dad is a freelance Carpenter. My grandfather also used to paint. I realised I wanted to work in the creative industry when I was picking my options for GCSE's. I chose Art and Product Design and later on I enrolled in an Art and Design course at college. I originally wanted to be a painter or sculptor but ended up choosing Animation at Uni.

I first realised that I wanted to work in the creative industries when I recieved praises and acknowledgment for my art works, as narcisstic as it sounds it made me feel good about my work and what I was doing. Along the way I knew it was something I could want to do in the future and then I found myself deep into the Animation world. There I always wanted to create a world that can move away from real life. Bringing out the images, visuals and environments in my head into the real world.

I realised I wanted to pursue a creative career during high school when art was the subject I enjoyed most. This combined with my love for games for as long as I can remember have have led me to study game art at college and now in university.
