I have always loved to watch the behind scenes from the movies and during an interview with the VFX Supervisor from David Fincher’s Zodiac, he mentions the challenges of re-creating San Francisco in the 70s. It has been always an excitement for to work on creative stuff always. It could be shooting, editing, designs , VFX and more. I always practice each tool and understand it so it helped me learn so much about how to approach for problem solving through severally methods. I was always fascinated by CGI on various media. Animating primitive shapes to drop with same speed as gravity was my very first experience with Maya and I had my mind blown. After some research, I have found that VFX industry involves everything that I am passionate about such as filming, modeling, compositing and texturing and that was the moment that I realized that it is the path that I wanted to take.
It was around grade 9 summer break. I had an opportunity to learn Autodesk Maya to create 3D model. Then I realized that I truely in love recreating asset in 3D. Two years after. I first realized I wanted to work in the creative digital space of film and entertainment when I was around 10 years old. I had made a bunch of silly videos with my cousins to play backwards on out Wii. I took those videos when I got home from visiting and turned them into a (terrible) short film. Since then I've evolved into adding effects, and deeper stories. In Today I'm focusing on making my visual effects professional-grade, so I can tell my stories better.
After watching The Hobbit, and all the appendices for those movies. I got to learn a lot about some aspects of the VFX industry from WETA. As well as what goes into shooting a VFX movie. Another big inspiration for me was Star Wars. I always thought all the models in Star Wars were so intricate and amazing.
