Substance Texturing Challenge - Kombi - Thank you NHS

Here are my final renders of my NHS Kombi van. This design I have gone for is a basic two tonne colour scheme with painted on decals and stickers. Overall, I am happy with the outcome, but I feel like I could have pushed my texturing further with more interesting details for instance adding more stickers/decals with more interesting designs. As well as experimenting with the weathering techniques to be more realistic as the weathering looks rather light. However, from this contest it has been interesting with experimenting with new techniques that I didn't know before. As I learnt about shaders, alphas, material properties and rendering. But there is room for improvement where I might carry on with this in my own time to improve my techniques and to get to grips with the software. 

With the extra time I added some weathering to the vehicle to highlight the edges and indents on the vehicle given a sense of depth. I would like to have done more weathering details, but I don’t want to get carried away that I don’t have enough time to get the renders done.

With the deadline being tomorrow it has made me realise how far behind I am with my van as I originally thought the deadline was at 11:59pm on the 16th when really it is the 11:59am. So, this has put a spanner in the works. As I was hoping to finish the texturing today and render on the day. So, I created my own designs for the stickers as alphas for the van. Which I think have turn out well, but I wish I could come up with more interesting designs. If I managed my time, I could have created more detailed designs.   

With the decals sorted I worked on the renders late into the night when I found out I was right about the time for the deadline. Which gave me some reassurance to try to get as much done with the texturing and rendering.

Been a while since I have done an update due to having a break over Christmas. This update shows that I Sorted out the colour scheme, windows and the smaller details which have turned out alright. However, I still got to create the stickers/logos, add them and some weathering as it looks a bit to clean. As I want to show that this van has gone around the UK collecting donations and to keep the morale up.

With my idea sorted I started adding basic materials to get an idea of how I can go about achieving my design and how I could picture where the logos can go. As 

With this competition I originally wanted to go for a military theme for the kombi van, but it has already been done. So, I started looking at the typical styles of kombi vans to give me an idea of what other styles/designs I can go with. From exploring my gathered reference images, I was inspired to go with a two-tone colour scheme of white/blue with NHS markings painted on it to thank the NHS for what they have done for us during these difficult times. With this I have gathered a variety of reference images to get an idea of how I want to style the van and the markings I want to apply to it.
