This is the final project I have been working on during my course at FX ANIMATION Barcelona 3D & Film School. This project of PMMT Arquitectes located in Girona, Catalonia (Spain), consists in an isolated single-family house with swimming pool. The house is located in a trapezoidal shape, following the regulatory parameters set by the urban plan of the historic municipality. At the volumetric level, a compact construction of GF+1 is chosen, with a gabled roof finished with Arabic tiles, thus integrating the new house into the urban complex.
The structure of the building is solved with metal pillars on the ground floor and CLT load-bearing panels on the first floor. That is why, while the outdoor image is adapted to materiality and colors of the historic complex, inside the house, the perimeter casing of wooden porticos and laminated boards is visible, resembling an inverted ship's hull.
