1854 Gurley Engineer's Transit

This is my first Hard Surface Modeling project  done in Year 2 sem 3 in The One Academy. It took around 9 weeks to complete this project. I model it  in Maya, texture in adobe Substance 3D Painter and render using Marmoset toolbag.

The reference I took is from https://www.compleatsurveyor.com/1854GurleyTransit/1854GurleyTransit.html.

I decided to do this transit because I enjoy nostalgic and vintage items. It is also quite challenging when I'm texturing it because there are many details on the reference  that making it look interesting. But at the end, I learned a lot during this project, especially on how to make the topo looks nice, using booleans and also improve my skill in texturing.

These are some screenshots throughout the project.

I took around 2 weeks for the blocking, 5 weeks to add details and refine the topo, and 2 weeks to texture. Luckily the references that I can find on the internet are clear and comprehensive that helping me work smoothly during the whole project. And also thanks to my lecturer for his guidance to help me to complete this work.
