2022 FX REEL

Hello everyone!

I’m Iraide and these are some of the projects using Houdini I worked on during my second year at FX ANIMATION BARCELONA school.

Every project is composed on Nuke X.

PYRO: OVERFLOWING CAULDRON

I wanted to create a casual environment that has a slight magical feeling to go with the overflowing cauldron.

MAIN TITLES (LIGHTING)

This is the first project I did last year when I was just starting out in Houdini.

I played with the lights while trying to create a similar effect to the American God’s title screen.

The statue I used is "The Three Graces" from Scan the World.

ZOMBIE CROWDS/RAGDOLLS

A project in which I tried to apply ragdoll dynamics to a varied crowd of zombies.

Models used:

-Assets from Megascans (building, roads)

-Car - Lenco Bear (Marek Vesely) https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/lenco-bear-d2c61a03b54c4ab792cb60506a8cdf2e

-Street Lamp (desvat) https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/street-lamp-9a09a3a47b03435f8d7d329d80e86516

POP PARTICLES

SMALL WATERFALL (FLIPS)

Tried my hand at highfields for the first time to create a small waterfall for my flips project.

Rock assets from Megascans.

GROOMING

Textured model and animations were provided by the school.

Every other asset is from Megascans.

MALFUNCTIONING SHIP (MAYA/BIFROST)

I added this project that I did last year in Maya at the end since, even though it’s a bit lacking, I do quite like it.

I modeled the ship in Maya and textured it using Substance, basing the design on Star Trek Discovery’s ship. Then I created the smoke using Bifrost and tried adding some falling sparks too. Originally, I wanted to add many more elements but sadly I wasn’t able to because of lack of time.

FINAL THANKS

Thank you so much for watching my reel!

I still have a long way to go but I hope to keep on learning and improving from now on too.

Lastly, I want to thank my teachers Ernest Monter, Enrique Zancajo, Francesc Bolló and Nikoloz Zardiashvili for all the help and guidance.
