Heart Racers

"It's Valentine's Day. Love is in the air and cafe-running cupid siblings, Val and Ty, are out of a job. That is.. until a new girl moves to town." Heart Racers is an upcoming 2D animated film featuring lots of action and lots of pink!

Early character concepts of Val, Ty, and the New Girl. Compared to Val and Ty and the rest of the town, I wanted to offset the New Girl's palette and separate her from her surroundings. To the siblings, she is something new and shiny and different, where they find more interest in the chase than the person they're looking to convert next into their lovestricken town.

Colorscript. Colors begin to change near the end,the pink becoming warmer as the tables turn in favor of the New Girl and Val's feelings towards the New Girl start to shift.

This was a test animation I animated/colored/composited in order to nail down the overall look and feel, including visual effects, of the film! Inspired by the likes of anime and sakuga, it was incredibly rewarding to see the blue arrows come to life.
