Hello everyone!

I'm Abigael and I'm in my last year of 3D-VFX-Animation. In addition of my studies, I spend all my free time to improve my concept art, photobashing and digital painting skills. I will show you my 2022 portfolio !

I know my portfolio shows too many sort of paintings such as illustrations, environment concepts, props concepts or character design, but right now, I don't know which path to follow.

I did my own League of Legends splash art of Dark Cosmic Camille. First, I made researches about the character and I tried to learn more about her through her poses, movements and spells in game. I made a lot of thumbnails that helped me finding the right pose for the final illustration. I started to polish more and more my painting until I got to the final result.

This splash art is based on the amazing concept of Albert Wong : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/DxoZxo

Here are some backgrounds I did to improve my painting skills using overpaint on my 3D blockings made with Maya. I was inspired a lot by the amazing serie "Arcane". I tried to add Piltover's and Zaun's atmospheres in them.

It was quite challenging because I'm not used to doing paintings that are less natural, bringing a city and an interior to life was a great challenge. I really enjoyed the way I tried to put an different atmosphere in these 3 paintings. I learned more about materials, lights, how to simplify details, it felt amazing !

I made these backgrounds to try other moods and atmospheres. In the first painting, I explored how to build a calm snowy forest. I tried to create a story around a whishing tree.

The second one is a background I did in a Ghibli style. I especially liked doing the aromatic plants and the wood because naturals objects are the best to draw!

Here is a personal project I did after I saw the serie called "Catching Killers", on Netflix.

I created the tiny appartement of Jake, a policeman who is investigating on the disappearance of his sister. He found that her case was probably linked with other missing girls. Jake shouldn't be allowed to work on this case because he is to close to the victim.

For the second concept, I wanted to focus myself on the creation of the killer's room.

Here is a visual development project based on a post apocalyptic world.

I researched different types of clothes and the best way for them to fit with the environment, to protect the character against the sandstorm and the acid environments.

I made concept of weapons that anyone could make. It's an assembly of different common objects. People of HUAKK need to have one to be ready if the Council army comes to destroy their new home.

Finally, I tried something new by creating some rocks. Theses holes make me think about the moon craters. I was inspired by eroded rocks, but I imagined that the rocks were here before the humans, damaged by an acid rain that created holes who extended themselves with time.

Another visual development project based, this time, on a fisherman village. I wanted to develop some assets, characters and to build a tribe around them. I wanted to use objects that we could find on the seaside like perls, small bells, ropes, medallions.. A kind of a polluted beach. People make their own talismans and amulettes by recycling.

Here are two concept where I wanted to explore the contrast between life and death. I really like nature and the cycle of life.

2044 is a visual development project I did to explore a new universe and to get back to vehicule and props concept that I hadn't done for a long time.

I tried to add some Last of Us vibes, of course it was my main source of inspiration for these concepts.

Here is a serie of environment concepts I made for a personal project around a underground market. I tried to develop an idea I had, creating props like the stands that people could find in the market.

I enjoy doing some studies in my sketchbook !

Thanks for taking your time to take a look at my portfolio ! I hope you enjoyed it !
