Compositing Showreel 2021

I'm a self taught compositor looking for a career in post production for features and episodic. Started to work professionally since November 2021, using Nuke as my main tool and also have some experience with Blender and SynthEyes. This is a breakdown of some shots in my current showreel after a mentorship from VFXBR.

Doom VR

For this shot, girl's head matchmove was done manually and I parented a few animated planes with different depth to achieve some parallax. UI was created in Illustrator and backplate has a simple screen insert. Everything was planned to sync with game sound.

Car Swap

Goal here was to swap cars and practice multi layer CG compositing and enhancement. CG (Arnold) was done by another artist.

Eye UI

I managed to track 8 points (Blender minimum) and matchmove rotation manually. UI animation is a procedural texture.

Statues Swap

This was one of my last personal projects, I was practicing Nuke/Blender ACES workflow and some lens effects compositing techniques. Tracked and created a rough layout, 3D models are from Sketchfab rendered with just 36 samples, OpenImageDenoise. For lighting, used the plate as a environment and also projected in my layout (shadow catcher), some area lights were added in proper 3D position to match the room. Cleanplate wasn't one of the best but I was very happy with the results. Match overall look and color from statues was an issue.

Glowing (Tool)

After some research about Inverse Square Law, I decided to create a tool for an exponential glow. Learned a lot about managing knobs, linking parameters and debugging. Still in development to minimize user inputs.
