A Blaze Within is a game about compassion and forgiveness. Our goal with this project was to give players an experience they haven't seen much in the industry thanks to a strong main female character, Nam-Khâ, and with a unique universe that takes its inspirations in cultures not much seen, such as Tibet here.

Round of applause for our sponsors

A Blaze Within is a boss fight game inspired by Monster Hunter, where you play as Nam-Khâ, a warrior monk. Face her past in order to save Leng-Shen, an ancient protective divinity that’s been taken over by a vile corruption, with the help of her bow and Light powers. Discover the wonders of this lost sanctuary and protect your heritage in this fantasy game embedded in tibetan culture.

This is a 1 year long student production made between 2020 and 2021 for PC platform and using the Unreal Engine 4.

A Blaze Within is a game about compassion and forgiveness. Our goal with this project was to give players an experience they haven't seen much in the industry thanks to a strong main female character, Nam-Khâ, but also with a unique universe that takes its inspirations in places and cultures not much seen, such as Tibet in our case.

THE ART

Originally Nam-Khâ had a heavier armor, but we decided to change her design to better match her bow and arrow fight style.

The appearance of Leng-Shen was set to be changing depending on how far the Corruption has taken over his body and mind.

This video features the full walkthrough of our game, from the opening cinematic made by Maeva Godard, to the climax of the epic battle to save Leng-Shen from the Corruption.

In this making-of, we explain deeper how, as a team, we created this epic experience that is A Blaze Within.
